Rosette leaned against the wall as Ellie leaned against the back of the couch.
"It's romantic, y'know? Like, uh, Steve, he went back to be with Peggy-" Rosette started before Ellie cut her off. "You know what? No, I have some thoughts about that. Why does he get to go back?" Ellie tilted her head.
"Why doesn't Bucky get to go back? Why doesn't Georgie get to go back? Dolley, Catty? Why don't I get to go back?!"
Winnie and Carlotta stepped out of the kitchen, just kind of watching, because what the fuck were they supposed to say?
"We could probably stage something where I was found alive and well or whatever the fuck! Hell, why don't you and Flower get to go back?" She gestured to Rosette before continuing with her rant. "And do you ever think about the fact that Steve knows everything? Steve knows everything. E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G everything! He knows everything! When I go missing, he'll know what happened to me. When Georgie, his dear baby sister, goes missing, he knows exactly what's happening with her. He knows exactly where Bucky is. He knows where Dolley is when she goes missing. He'll know what happened to Catty- do you understand just how condescending all that feels?!"
Rosette wasn't about to tell her to calm down, neither were Winnie and Carlotta.
"Hell, he probably said to Dolley or Susie, something along the lines of 'Don't worry, we'll find them, I'll help you' when HE KNOWS EXACTLY WHERE WE ALL ARE! Do you understand just how condescending that all feels?! And- what? He finds out his baby sister's alive and well, he finds out his lifelong best friend's sister is alive and well, he finds out he has a granddaughter, he joins a superhero team, AND he finds out his lifelong best friend, as well as a little girl he once knew, are both alive and well and he spent years trying to help us. And he threw it all away for- what? Some girl whose picture he jacked off to every night?"
"And listen, if he had just gone back just for a quick stop to dance with Peggy like had promised all those years ago, fine, I wouldn't hold that against him. But he stayed. You know, Peggy had a family, Peggy had a life. She moved on from Steve just fine, she got married, she had children, she had grandchildren, she had great grandchildren, she created SHIELD, she was doing just dandy and was happy. Oh! That reminds me of another thing Steve knows; he knows his dear wife's life work will all have been for nothing. Because he knows that HYDRA's in SHIELD. He knows that his lifelong best friend is being held captive and tortured by HYDRA. He knows that his baby sister is being held captive and tortured by a group funded by HYDRA. He knows that a little girl he once knew is being held captive and tortured by HYDRA. He knows that his granddaughter is being held captive and tortured by HYDRA. Mr. Steven Grant Rogers knows everything."
The redhead took in a deep breath, smoothing her hair. "So forgive me if I'm a little angry."
