t/w abandonment, implied rape, incest mention
-
The last thing Lorelei expected to see when she woke up the following morning was a note on Frankie's sleeping bag.
They had run away together; he agreed to help her raise her daughter. They had put together a squat for themselves. A month later, Briar Pumpkin Frankie Quinzel was born. And now, not even a week later, in her twin's place was a piece of paper.
She grabbed the paper and read it.
Lorelei,
I want you to know how sorry I am. But I have to go back, I have to go back to dad. Don't worry, though, I promise I won't tell him about where you are or about Briar. As far as he will know, we got separated. I'm sorry, Lorelei. I love you. Womb to tomb.
-Frankie
Lorelei fought every last urge to scream. They clutched the paper tightly in their hands, choking back a sob.
Frankie abandoned her.
A few tears dripped down onto the paper. Lorelei then tore the paper to shreds.
Frankie had abandoned them. To go back to him. It went back to the man who got his own daughter pregnant. Again, she was fighting every urge to scream.
'Womb to tomb.'
It's something they'd said since they were eight. It wasn't a revolutionary statement amongst twins, but, after all they went through together, they repeated this often. And now that statement meant basically nothing.
"Womb to tomb, my ass," Lorelei muttered.
Lorelei's own crying was soon interrupted by that of her newborn. She approached the crib she and Frankie had put together. Looks like she wasn't getting any help at all.
Fucking bitch.
