EMAILING MOM

Hallena genuinely had no idea what she was supposed to say. What does one say to her biological mother, who just so happens to be a major Brookinian celebrity?

Maybe she could ask Brie Sollet, but given how different they were, that probably wouldn't yield any helpful results.

She'd gotten Emelise's email from Catlyn who'd gotten it from her sister, Jadey Gressi. Jadey, who was apparently Hallena's sister, too.

Hallena also had more questions like should she use her personal or professional email? Ultimately, she went with personal.

She started typing.

Subject: Parentage and possibly meeting

Hello, Emelise,

My name is Hallena Prealet. I was adopted when I was a baby and after doing some ancestry DNA stuff back in May, I've learned that you're my biological mother.

I considered texting or calling you but I figured that would be too personal, so I asked Catlyn Bordio for your email. I am using my personal email though. And I didn't tell her you're my mother.

I'm sorry for waiting to reach out to you, but I had a trial to deal with, so that took most of my attention.

If you'd be willing too, I'd like to meet you. We can communicate through email or we can exchange numbers. If you don't want to, I'd like for you to at least tell me that and I'll never contact you again if that's what you'd like. But if you do, please email me back, and we can make plans from there.

Thank you.

Sincerely, Hallena Prealet

Hallena read it over and over, making several tiny adjustments.

"Good enough," She ultimately muttered to herself, pressing send.
