Sick - Law x F!Reader - Mini Fic 4

You sighed, now back in your infirmary room, rummaging in your bag. You felt mad by your interaction with Ikkaku. Sure, the alliance was thrown at you, made by the captains, but it wasn't a bad thing, besides you had full trust in your captain, you wanted to love Law's crew like he did. You weren't stupid, you knew you weren't coming here to make friends, but it would have been nice to get along with Law's crew better.

Your head shot over as the door to the room creaked open. "Y/n-ya, I just want to run some tests" Law spoke, announcing himself. "Sure" you got up on your bed, ready for your checkup. "Have you been feeling any symptoms since surgery earlier?" Law asked as he pulled himself over to you on a stool.

You shook your head. "Not really, I feel like I've got a mild head cold, but that's about it" you shrugged. You looked at Law as he rifled through paperwork. "That seems normal, from what I've read" he started, turning and grabbing the book off the table. "From what I've read on this disease, your symptoms don't really show until it's began spreading" he mumbled flipping through the pages.

"So that dehydration was really a blessing?" You questioned. "I'd say so". You continued watching Law's tattooed hands flip through the pages. "Here it says that it spreads from your lungs to the brain" he read aloud. "A few people reported hallucinations, cravings and uncontrolled emotions" he continued. You listened intently, hoping he could purge your body of this rotten disease before all of that.

"Some patients went into cardiac arrest" he looked up to you. "There's really not much on symptoms, considering most people choose to end their own lives instead" he nonchalantly explained, closing the book. "Thrilling, I've got all that to look forward to then" you joked.

"Don't say that y/n-ya" Law scolded. You put your hands up in defeat. "Sorry, I guess it's just easier to cope that way". He shook his head, standing up. Law unsheathed his sword. "Room". "Scan".

You had been used to this, you had been scanned a few times now, you figured he wanted a grasp on how quickly your disease is spreading. He held the bridge of his nose as he came away from your scan.

"It's not spread anymore, but I need to get in and perform a proper surgery, if I'm to stop it from becoming an even bigger mess" he sighed. "But you just did a surgery" you shot, wishing you understood more about his power and this disease.

"I did, on your brain where it had spread, I took tiny bits of your nerves to stop it spreading further, I needed to let myself recover after, so I couldn't do any major surgery" he explained.

"That doesn't mean it won't find another path to spread through, hence the scans". He motioned to you with his hand. "Thank you" you blurted, overwhelmed by a sense of gratitude for the man in front of you.

"You don't have to thank me, I'm a doctor" he reminded, humble as always. You smiled at his words. "I was really worried having to come here" you began. Law took a seat, listening to your words. "I didn't want to leave the crew, my comforts, but I don't want to die" you continued, holding your tears in.

You looked to Law, who watched you intently, listening to every word that spilt out of your mouth. "I knew you'd have a lovely crew, and you do. However I still don't feel comfortable". You took a breath in, Law was still quiet, awaiting your next sentence. "But here like this, I feel comfortable, I know you won't let me die, I can feel exactly why my captain welcomed you with open arms" you smiled, a tear finally slipping amongst your heavy emotions.

You wiped it quickly. Law still didn't say anything, taken aback by your sudden kind confession. "I aim to not let any patients of mine die" he finally spoke up. Law was intrigued by you. When he first allied himself with your crew he wasn't sure. If anything you seemed like the weakest of the women aboard the Strawhat crew.
