A/n: I'm so sorry this took so long to finally get out (sorry if it's not good also I'm not great at capturing Brook and I wasn't 100% sure where to go with this so if you want something different please let me know). I got really ill after accepting the requests and was back and forth to the hospital so writing got put on pause!! I'm better now though so it's full steam ahead (hopefully)!!
It was late as you leant up on the ships railing, looking out at the night sky. It was beautiful, the stars shone brightly against the dark sky, everybody was either sleeping or had retreated to other areas on the ship, so it was peaceful.
"Yohoho, would you look at those stars". You turned, his voice was soft and you smiled as he seemed to be walking over to you. "I know.. they're beautiful" you commented looking back up to the sky. Brook had come and stood next to you, looking up.
"My eyes almost can't believe it.. well.. they wouldn't if I had eyes" Brook laughed and you softly chuckled at him, he would say things like this a lot, and you were one of the only Strawhats who seemed to appreciate his humour, you looked over at him now that he was stood next to you, the waves crashed against the hull of the ship in a peaceful melodic rhythm.
"I could watch the sea all night" you spoke up, turning to look at Brook who was turned looking at the sea. "Yes I also appreciate the company of the sea, though for different reason, it was both my solitude and company for 50 years" he casually replied.
You for a second didn't know how to respond, you were so used to him cracking jokes, playing music, goofing off, you weren't sure what to say when his voice came out so soft and vulnerable for a second. You shuffled and spoke up once more. "That must've been hard".
He hummed in response. "I suppose so, but it was worth every second to travel the seas again". You smiled to yourself at his answer, how he had a positive outlook you couldn't be sure. "You look a bit cold y/n" Brook spoke up, taking notice of your slight shivering.
You couldn't really deny it, it wasn't exactly a warm night and you were quite cold. "I guess I am a little" you admitted. Brook stood back from the edge, his bony fingers extended to you. "Will you join me for some tea?". Despite the fact he couldn't physically smile, you could hear a hint of a smile in the way he spoke. You nodded and gently took his hand.
You followed him into the galley where he had draped a blanket over your shoulders, and began brewing tea, the only thing he'd be trusted doing in Sanji's kitchen. You watched hummed as he poured into two teacups some tea, and you had to bite back the part of you that wanted to warn him against burning himself.
"For you" he placed the cup in front of you and took a seat opposite you. "This is so cosy" he let out his signature laugh, causing a smile to fall onto your own lips, as you rested on your hand, stirring your tea with the other. Once cool enough you took a sip of the tea, and it was perfect.
"I think I'm warming up already" you commented, feeling very content in the moment. He sipped as his own tea, nodding in acknowledgment. You watched as his hair swayed back and forth with the movement.
"I'm really glad you joined our crew Brook" you happily sighed, looking over at him he seemed a little stunned for a minute, as if he hadn't received such a compliment in a while.
"Oh y/n, I'm very happy to be here, to have met wonderful people like you" he replied, a happy tone to his voice. After that a comfortable silence settled for a while, as you sipped your tea's in the night. The Sunny was never so quiet, but it was nice, Brook was someone the whole crew had prematurely judged, but in reality, he was sweet, and just happy to be here with everyone.
You'd definitely seek him out for company in the future.
