A/N: Couple of things. 1. Luffy will be a little ooc considering the universe shift, I couldn't figure out a way to make this work well otherwise so apologies. 2. This is all written from Luffy's POV, I thought that would be better!! Okay happy reading!

Luffy, the prince title didn't really suit him, but there was nothing that could be done. He was the only blood heir to the throne, and so despite all his protests, he was a betrothed man. Ace and Sabo would tell him he's lucky, she's a beautiful girl, and rich, and kind, but to Luffy none of that mattered, being free was what he wanted.

Of course he took on his duties, and followed his families wishes, that's all he really knew anyway. His family were always on him though, whether it was being improper, or too glutinous, being away from his duties to long, there was always something.

Right now was one of those moments where Luffy was in the room, but his mind was elsewhere. His wife to be and her family were enjoying a ginormous feast, and honestly it seemed like she got on with Ace and Sabo more than her own husband to be.

Luffy left no room for conversation with how quickly he ate so everyone pretty much chatted at him. "Well son?". Luffy looked up as he realised the question was being directed at him, and everyone's eyes turned to look. Ace snickered as he saw the blank look behind Luffy's eyes, and Sabo sighed.

"Wedding colours" Sabo prompted, trying to get the gears turning. Luffy's eyes widened. Wedding colours? Why did that matter. He simply shrugged. "Red" He answered. Everyone seemed to visibly cringe. Especially since the kingdom colours were blue. Luffy sensing he gave the wrong answer, scratched his head.

"Blue?" He tried again, and this time, it was received better. Except by his father who looked embarrassed by his son. The rest of the dinner went on this way and Luffy was becoming more and more bored with all this wedding talk.

By the time it all ended and everyone retired for the night, Luffy's mind was screaming out for sleep. "Boy" The king was stern as he called Luffy into the drawing room for a 'chat'.

Ace and Sabo noticed how dejected Luffy looked after an hour of being lectured by his father, the king. "So? How'd it go?" Ace asked, a hint of a smirk on his face. He found it amusing how Luffy and his father clashed on this one subject.

"I don't know.. lots of shouting and something about visiting the tailor tomorrow.." Luffy sighed, he was fed up already and this was only the first of his long list of wedding errands.

Sabo gave him a pat on the shoulder. "We'll accompany you then..". Luffy nodded, and excused himself to his room. Ace and Sabo knew realistically, Luffy didn't love this life. He was suffocated by the king, just living an already planned out life.

They had to admit, it was an easy run for the two of them compared to Luffy. They got to live the lavish life without all the pressure, because Luffy was the heir, not them.
