A/N: this is the other half, though I think the first one came out better than this one!! Thank you again for the requests!!(:
You shook your head, another fight, another round of injuries to treat. As Law bandaged you up, you fought the urge to click your tongue at him, scold him for not focusing on himself. Not that he would have. Never would he put himself before his crew."Are you going to tell me why you keep looking at me like that" he quietly spoke up, not looking up from where his hands stayed bandaging you. Huffing you shifted in your seat. "You don't have to treat me you know, you should focus on yourself" you replied.
His eyes looked up to meet yours. "A captain that doesn't care for his crew first?" his flat way of speaking nearly caused you to miss the vulnerability in his words. "Staying healthy for the crew should be your priority" you argued. Your arms would have been folded if he wasn't treating you.
"I bet you are too exhausted to even use your ability on yourself, just by looking at you I can tell you've at least fractured some ribs" you observed, pulling your arm back now he had finally finished. Law raised an eyebrow, impressed by your observation.
"I'm not even that injured, yet you have treated at least 15 of us before you" you scolded, softening toward the end, truly just wanting him to prioritise himself. "And look at this busted up lip" you sighed, instinctively reaching out to touch his bruising face. Law flinched at your touch, but he didn't remove your hand.
"I will be fine to use my ability tomorrow" he spoke up, snapping you out of what you were doing, caressing your captains face. "R-right" you stuttered. "Well in the meantime, I'll do what I can" you smiled, which only earned you a frown.
"I am a doctor remember, or did you knock your head too?" he teased, in a monotone manner, you expected he would fight help. You were prepared to beg however if it meant he got some form of treatment, at least to calm your own head. "Come on, help me improve my skills Captain, who better to practice on than a doctor" You pushed, hoping to play on his pain and wear him down.
He glared at you, as you unwaveringly stared right back. Upon realising he'd never win this fight, and not having the energy to, he gave in quickly, sighing as he did so. "Do what you have to". You gently led him to his room upon his request, majority of the medical rooms being taken up anyway.
Once you settled him in an upright position you went to grab your supplies. "Okay captain first things first, have you had any medication?" You asked, papers in hand to note his answers. He rolled his eyes at you taking up the role so seriously, but deep down he found it charming. "Not yet".
You jotted it down. "Okay well I've got some for you" you informed, grabbing the pill bottle from your pocket. "As long as it's not-" he began before you cut him off. "I know I know, not for 48 hours it can slow healing down, this is a different medication" you reassured, setting down water with a couple of pills for him.
He managed a little smile at your knowledge. "Now I grabbed you an ice pack, this will help bring down the swelling" you explained, as if he didn't already know, not to mention he was the one to teach you. "Thanks" he mumbled as you handed it over to him.
"If you need to cough, which I suspect you might.." you trailed off as your mind caught up with your note taking. "Hold a pillow to your chest" you finished, motioning to his bed pillows.
"Make sure you attempt to take at least 10 big deep breaths-" "every hour" he spoke in unison with you. You sighed, you can't turn doctor mode off with Law.
"Well clearly you know the rest, sleep upright, you can walk around a bit and move your shoulders to clear the mucus, in four hours you can have more meds" you lazily listed off, a little disappointed that your role was coming to an end so quickly.
"If you need anything I've set up a baby transponder snail to the bunkhouse" you pointed out next to him, preparing to leave his room. "I actually think you got something wrong" Law pointed out, a small smirk evident on his sharp features.
You wracked your brain trying to figure out what it could be, a tinge of embarrassment evident in your expression. "You should be observing over your patient all night, so I think you'll need to stay here".
