A/N: Thank you for requesting, I hope this is okay, I haven't written for Katakuri before, so I don't really have a great grasp on his character! I've nearly finished Whole Cake arc and I love this man, so I knew I had to do this one!!

8 years old You were running through the town, a big game of chase being set up by your friends. You checked behind you making sure nobody had caught up, trying to keep your manic laughing under wraps.
You felt your entire body smack into something bracing yourself as you toppled forward. Yet the hard landing you expected never happened. You sat up and blinked, noticing it was a person you had bumped into.
With the manners your father had drilled into you, you apologised, feeling rather guilty for knocking down a complete stranger. You quickly got off of them and offered a hand up. You expected them to be mad, but no shouting ever came from the boy.
Upon looking at him, you noticed he had some of the most striking features, crimson hair, with eyes to match. However his most noticeable feature was his mouth. It looked like he had a permanent grin. You offered the boy a gentle smile.
"It's fine, just watch where you're going in future okay?". You nodded at his words, grateful he didn't rip you a new one, like most around the town would have.
"My friends and I, we're playing chase, wanna join?" You asked, hoping he'd agree. "Me? I don't play chase" he declined, which made you pout. You really wanted to know this boy better. You had never seen someone cooler in all your life, he had to be your friend.
Maybe bribery would work. "Come on, we all share a big box of donuts after playing, it'll be fun" you saw him thinking on it, an almost shine came to his eyes. "Donuts?" He questioned. You grinned knowing you had him, nodding to confirm.
"Fine I'm in". Before he could say anymore you grabbed his hand taking off running. "I'm y/n by the way". "Katakuri".
10 years old In the two years you had been friends, it brought you both close. You noticed overtime he didn't have any relationships outside of his siblings, who you managed to form friendships with as a byproduct of being Katakuri's friend.
Some of the children you played with around town no longer wanted to play with you once Katakuri joined, you didn't mind though, he was the best friend you ever had. A lot of the residents had taken to bullying him for his appearance. You always made sure from day 1 to tell him how much you loved his features.
He never seemed too bothered by it though, in fact he always told you it was a win for him on the food front. So you kept up the tradition of sharing donuts, something you came to find out was his favourite food anyway. In fact was what you were doing now. You smiled as you both accidentally reached for the same donut, him surrendering it to you.
