You Gave Me The Sun.Twice!!

CHAPTER 16

Jess's POV

Why am I so nervous all of a sudden, is it because I haven been on a date in so long or is it my sixth sense telling me something bad might happen.

It's a public place what's the worst that can happen in public. I head to the entrance and I see Zack waiting for me there.

He opens his arms and I don't know what his problem is honestly. We don't know each other like that for him to expect me to hug him.
I pretend to check a message on my phone to avoid hugging him.
I guess he gets the hint because when I look up his arms are back down.
Thank God, that was weird.

"Hey Jess, I'm glad you could make it" he says in rather a loud voice.

"Yeah thank you for inviting me out for dinner"I say.
He puts his hand on my waist and leads me inside the restaurant. When we get to the table he pulls the chair out for me.
Just when I thought he would sit opposite me he decides to sit next to me and he is too close for comfort.
I move my chair to create space between us.

"Ohhh, am I making you uncomfortable, I could move if you want." He says.

What am I even supposed to say to that, everyone knows it's impolite to ask someone to move over. But I do want him to move over and I hate that he got a corner table and it's pretty much far from other tables.
It's the perfect table for a couple that wants some alone time.

Anyway I just smile at him and I decide to stand up and move to the other side.
One thing I have learnt so far is not to sacrifice myself for other people besides my kids.
If I don't like something I am definitely going to say something.
Being a door mat doesn't really help in anyway.

"I'm the one who should have moved chairs not you Jess"he says.

What is wrong with this guy, Jess! already?
"Umm, it's no biggie"
I scan the table and I see a menu, quickly taking it I open it up so that I can have something else to look at.

"So how did you find this place?" I ask him.
"Well I stay in the area and I come here a lot. Anyway I wanted an intimate setting so we could get to know each other better"

"Alright, it's a nice place, really cozy"
I don't even see what's written on the menu, i just want to leave and I just arrived
Come on Jessica give this date a chance and don't count him out without giving him a fair chance.

Just then the waiter comes over to ask what we will be having and just before I can tell the waiter I'm still browsing through the menu Zack decides to order for both of us.

" We will both have the 800g steak, the 8 buffalo wings with the chef's salad, prawns and for dessert the lovers chocolate cake" he says.

"And to drink?"

"We already have water on the table it's okay" he continues.

"Actually, I would like the strawberry milk shake"I add.

"Alright ma'am, they will be ready in the next 15 minutes"the waiter says before leaving.

"Ohhh sorry about that, is it okay that I ordered for you?I just have been here so many times that I know what's good."

"It's okay"

He then pushes a glass of water towards me.

"Thank you, but I prefer sparkling water"

"I know, it is sparkling water"
Huh? Okay

"Okay well thank you"
I take out a straw from my bag which I never leave behind when I'm out.
It's able to detect if your drink has been spiked
It chances color if it's been spiked.

"Wow you carry your own straw? That's strange" he laughs

"I don't like plastic straws and I hate leaving lipstick stains on the cups so I always bring my metal straw everywhere I go."
After putting the straw inside the water I wait for a few seconds and it doesnt change colour so I guess the water is okay.
Am I being too paranoid or what. Better safe than sorry.

The waiter brings our food together with my milkshake. I immediately take a sip of the shake. It's been a long time since I last drank milkshake. Yum that hits the spot always.

"So Jessica I will just be straightforward here, I am interested in you and if you give me a chance I am sure i will exceed your expectations,"

"Well since this is our first time meeting, I think we should go with the flow and see how this date plays out and then we can take it from there" I say.
I look up at him and I see a frown on his face

"Is something wrong?"I ask.

"No, no problem,I just thought that you would show more interested in getting to know me"

"Ohhh, well I came to the date so that should count for something"

"Well someone like you should appreciate that I took initiative to ask you out"he says.

"Someone like me??"

"Someone with 2 children, you aren't really the flavour of the month. That's a lot for anyone to handle and I thought I would do you a favour."

I don't know why, but I laugh out loud. That was unexpected.

"Excuse me for a moment,"
I'm not stupid I take my milkshake with me and I go to the waiter who served us.

"Hie, can you please make 1kg riblets with  fries to go and 4 chicken burgers to go." I say.
He agrees and i give him my card.
I inform him that I will wait at the table for my order.

I go back to the table while sipping my milkshake.i sit back down and I face Zack.

"Where were we again?"

"What's up with you going around with your drink everywhere. Do you think I would put something in your drink. What do you take me for?"

"I don't think this is going to work out after all Zack. But thank you for the date, I haven't been out in a while"

"Probably because you are a washed up woman with baggage. Double the trouble to be specific. You don't know a good thing even when it is sitting in front of you. Go fuck yourself with your bastard children"

I quickly stand up, take the bottle with water and pour it all on his head. I will take any insult but when it comes to my kids I don't play.

"This should be the last time we meet Zack, you are nothing Zack. You are just a sad little excuse for a human being. A waste of space honestly. What kind of human being says that to someone they don't even know"

"Ohhh I know you Jessica, I have been following you since we were in university and you never noticed me. Even when you fell pregnant I was hurt but I figured I can take care of the little bastards because I love you so much. But now that I know who you are, good riddance." He snaps.

"Well have a great night yeah,"

I was about to take a step when he grabs my hand harshly

"This is not the end Jessica, you are coming with me and we will finish this alone"

"You are a fucking psycho, now get your hand off me right now"I snap

He stands up and starts pulling to the back door. After he closes the door I realise we are outside. He takes out a knife cuts my wrist. Is this guy sick in the head.

Luckily a man I don't even know rushes to us,and he hits Zack with what looks like a gun behind his head.
"Are you okay?"he asks
I shake my head
" Wait here ma'am."
He then handcuffs Zack to the pole close to the door.

He then rushes in the restaurant and brings out a cloth to tie my arm.

He then takes out his phone and calls someone and that's when I pass out probably from fear.
