Bump in the Road

I woke up to see Xavier laying on top of my chest. I think he was sleeping. So I was careful not to move. I looked at the clock, it was 10:52 am.

"You're heavy." Xavier was practically putting all of his weight on me. I tried to get up because I was getting uncomfortable, but Xavier was holding me down.

"Let's just stay in bed forever." His sleepy voice was extremely alluring.

"You're crushing me." I was struggling to get from under him. Thankfully, he immediately got off of me. But he kept one arm over me and buried his face in my neck.

"I need to get up." I told him. He didn't care. As I tried to get out of the bed, Xavier pulled me back closer to him.

"Stay with me. In this bed." His eyes was closed the whole time.

"I'll have to admit this bed is extremely comfortable." I was slowly giving in.

"Exactly." Xavier pushed me closer to him and that's when I realized we were naked. I hate sleeping naked.

"Just let me put some clothes on." I attempted to get out of the bed again, but Xavier wouldn't have it.

"All these years and you would think you would be comfortable walking around naked." He smirked.

"Fine. You win." I cuddled more into him.

"See, that wasn't so hard was it?" He patted my head as if he was coddling me.

"Shut up or I'll get up." I warned him. That shut him up.

We took a nap and when I woke up the bed was empty. I sat up and saw Xavier fully clothed standing at the door talking to someone. I silently laid back down to act like I was asleep so I could eavesdrop.

"They came in?" Xavier asked.

"Yes. Both of them." Oh that's Jase! What were they talking about?

"Thanks for telling me. I'll bring Taylor down so we can take a look at them." Xavier said. To look at what?

Xavier closed the door and I immediately closed my eyes.

"I know you're awake, princess. Come on, the blood samples are back." I quickly got up but my feet were tangled in the sheets so I fell. Before I could hit the ground Xavier caught me.

"Please be careful. You might be carrying a child in there. He placed me on the ground slowly and pulled back the sheets so I could be free.

"Thanks." I scratched my head. His comment made me nervous about being pregnant again.

I brushed my teeth and looked in the closet and surprisingly there were a bunch of clothes in my size.

I put on a t-shirt and some sweats. My laziness won and didn't put on any makeup.

"What do you want to do first: Pregnancy or Species?" He asked.

I know I was definitely not ready to see if I'm pregnant. Even though I know Xavier was eager to know.

"Species." I decided. His smiled faltered a little bit but he grabbed my hand and led the way to Nikolai's office.

I knocked on the door.

"Come in." Nikolai opened the door to invite us in.

"We heard the blood tests were back?" Xavier and I sat down.

"Yes. Here it is." He gave us a paper. I stared at it for while but I couldn't decipher the words on the paper.

"I have no idea what this means." I gave up and slumped in my chair waiting for one of them to explain it to me.
