Xavier barged through the doors of the throne room. He was pissed off at his father.
"What the hell father?!" Xavier didn't care that there were other people in the room.
"Pardon me, generals." King Alexander said. They bowed and left the room. As soon as they left he gave a hard glare at Xavier.
"You better have a good reason to interrupt that very important meeting." Xavier could tell his father was frustrated, but he didn't care.
"Why are you hunting down the future Queen? And more importantly, my beloved!" Xavier was too blinded by rage to notice his mother walk in.
"Xavier. What is going on here? I could hear you all the way from the courtyard." Xavier's mother was calm. All the time. She stayed calm so others would feel calm.
"He barged in here during a very important meeting wondering why I'm supposedly trying to kill our daughter-in-law." Alexander said as if it was the most absurd accusation ever.
"Xavier. You can't just come here unannounced. I taught you better than that." Celine scolded Xavier. He was disappointed in his mom. His mother always took his dad's side; not even hearing an explanation.
"But mother. I saw the crest on the vampires. They were royal guards! And only dad could order them to hunt someone. He's ruthless and-"
"Enough! I've had it with your false accusations! If you disrupt our peace any further I will have to order you to leave. Am I clear?" Xavier had a shocked look on his face. Alexander had a smirk and looked a little too smug. That was the first time in almost ten years Xavier has ever heard his mother yell.
Xavier couldn't take it anymore so he stormed out of the room and headed to the military quarters.
Celine turned to her husband. "Is it true?"
"What are you talking about?" Alexander asked.
"Don't play innocent with me. For centuries I've been protecting your ass. I will not defend you if this is true."
"I'm doing what is best for my kingdom. That is all you need to know." With that said, Alexander walked out the room.
As Xavier headed to the military chambers he looked at his phone and saw he received a text from Taylor.
Tell your mother I said hello.
Xavier couldn't complete Taylor's request. He was too angry at his parents.
"General Benedict," Xavier opened the door and into the office. "I need to have a word with you."
"Of course, Prince Xavier" He gestured his hand to one of the chairs.
"What were you and my father talking about during the meeting?" Xavier asked.
"You mean the one you interrupted?" Xavier nodded his head. "Oh just some boundary problems and raids by the east coast. Nothing big." Xavier could hear his heart rate increase and could easily tell he was lying.
"Well my father said it was an important meeting. That doesn't sound important." Xavier's patience was wearing thin.
As General Benedict opened his mouth Xavier interrupted him. "Before you speak I would suggest you not lie to me again. I would hate to lose my temper."
"Is that a threat, your majesty?" The General forced out the last two words.
"Yes."
They gave each other a hard stare for a while and Xavier won the match.
