| Y/N's POV |
I watched as the leaves from the tree fall to the ground, the colors changing as the seasons change. I couldn't help but feel a twinge of sadness as I watch nature unfold before me, through a window. I haven't been outside in a little while, it's been almost a week since Hailee took me to her mansion? Probably.
I heard the door open, turning my head to see Billie walking in with a tray of food. "I brought you dinner. You didn't eat breakfast or lunch so you should probably eat this." Billie suggested, setting the tray down on my bed.
Hailee upgraded my bed, so instead of having a flat mattress to sleep on, I now have a queen size bed with a wooden bed frame. "What is it?" I ask, sitting on the bed.
"Spaghetti with meatballs, garlic bread, and a salad." Billie pointed to the tray, pushing it towards me. "Hailee suggested giving you a water bottle and a soda as well."
"Surprisingly nice of her." I scoff, placing the tray over my lap, picking at the food on the plate. "Is she only this way because we had sex?"
Billie's eyes widened slightly before she cleared her throat. "No." She shook her head. "She never keeps an girl over after sex."
"She kidnapped me." I deadpanned, taking a small bite of the bread, sipping some water to wash it down.
"Hailee always has a reason for things, oddly enough." Billie shrugged, offering me a small smile as she made her way to the door. "Let me know if you need anything else." She's been trying to gain my trust and loyalty again, it will take her a while, but it won't be so long since she's literally my best friend.
I miss her too.
She closes the door, locking it shut. I let out a sigh, beginning to eat the food I was served. I couldn't help but reflect on Billie's words. 'Hailee always has a reason for things...' Does that mean she planned to kidnap me? I was pulled out of my thoughts when the door was suddenly opened again, revealing Hailee herself, leaning against it as she closed it.
"How're you feeling?" She asked me, avoiding my eye as she made her way from the door, starting to slowly walk around the room.
I watch her, something clicking in my brain. "Did you know about me from Billie before I moved here?" I suddenly asked, taking note of how her body froze as soon as she reached the window.
"Why do you care?" Her voice was harsh, cold, and distant. There was something else in there though, something a little more vulnerable, but I couldn't put my finger on it.
"Because for some reason, I'm still here." I snap, standing up from the bed and setting the food tray down on the floor next to the dresser. I walk towards her, standing behind her with my arms crossed. "Why? Why am I here, Hailee? What makes me so different from everyone else who's ever been here-" I was cut off when Hailee's strong hand wrapped around my throat, her other hand grabbing my waist and pinning me against the wall. Her hand was cutting off my oxygen a little.
"Drop. The. Fucking. Subject. Y/N." She growls, her tone was something that scared me the most. Her hand on my throat stated to tighten, anger practically fuming around her. "Sometimes it's best that you don't know everything." Hailee whispered harshly in my ear, giving my throat one last squeeze before letting me go, pulling away as I drop to the ground, wheezing for air. Her back was turned to me, making her way to the door before she glanced over her shoulder, calling out one last time. "If you want to remain alive, I suggest you listen to me. I'm not always so lenient as you think I can be."
Tears stung my eyes as she slammed the door shut, causing the window to shake and the lamp on my dress fall to the ground, glass shattering everywhere. I stand up, looking in the small mirror in the corner of the room, seeing the dark red outline of Hailee's hand forming around my neck. I started to sob softly, my hand maneuvering up to cover my mouth, my sobs now coming out as muffled.
What has my life become?
