| Hailee's POV |
Seeing Tini and Brando bond with Y/N is the sweetest thing ever. They've been following her everywhere and it's only been 30 minutes. I'm a little jealous but I feel a bit... happy... that they approve of her. I mean- like her.
Anyway, we managed to get them off her trail by bribing them with treats that lead to their play pen. It took 5 minutes but it was worth it to have Y/N to myself again. I grabbed her hand, pulling her into the kitchen and she happily followed with a smile.
"I want you to meet someone special to me." I whisper in her ear, Y/N looked up at me, nodding her head. I pulled her over to the kitchen, the fridge door closing to revel my brother, Griffin. "Y/N, this is my older brother, Griffin."
"Yo, what's up." Griff greeted the shorter girl, Y/N put on a shy smile, holding her hand out to shake his but he pulled her in for a small hug. "Sorry, I prefer hugs." He chuckled and Y/N waved it off, hugging him back with her smile widening a bit more.
"Not a problem. It's really nice to meet you." She giggled cutely, I couldn't help but stare at her side profile as she looked up at my brother.
"Hailee talks all about you." He mischievously turned his head to me, winking as he wiggled his eyebrows playfully. I roll my eyes, looking away from Y/N, ignoring her burning stare at me, and turn to my brother.
"You're annoying." He chuckled, ruffling my hair before giving Y/N one last hug.
"Love you too, baby sis. Nice to meet you again, Y/N." Griffin made his way out the kitchen, throwing both of us one last smile. Y/N turned to me, a smirk beginning to pull at her lips. I groan, starting to walk away but the girl was quick to pull me back.
"You talk about me, huh?" She smirked, wrapping her arms around my neck, pushing me up against the counter. "It's cute."
"Stop." I demand, looking at the ceiling to avoid her eyes. Y/N giggled, shaking her head as she put her hand under my chin, forcing my head down to look at her.
"Fine." She reluctantly stopped, holding me in her arms as I wrapped one of mine around her waist, resting my chin on top of her head.
"Hailee." We both turned our heads towards the sound of the voice. So familiar, as they walked through the door of my mansion, setting bags on the table. When they moved away from the counter I was able to see who it was.
Mom and dad.
"Mother. Father." I greet them in a monotone voice, Y/N looking up at my with concern. "Didn't know you'd be here." I grit through my teeth, glancing at Griffin who had been glaring at our parents since the moment they set foot in our house.
"Well, we can't miss a traditional Steinfeld thanksgiving." My mother said with a fake smile. I instinctively pulled Y/N into my side, my parents noticed this. "And who is this, Hailee?"
"She won't matter to you guys." I hiss, my cold eyes glued to my so called, 'parents'. My dads face hardened, taking a step forward as he harshly put a hand on my shoulder, whispering in my ear.
"Who. Is. She. Hailee." He barked, applying pressure to my shoulder. I hit back a whimper, trying to stay strong as the eyes were on me. Especially a certain brown eyed ones that have never left me. "Don't ignore your mother, you dyke."
I inhale deeply, closing my eyes for a moment to keep my anger down. Could you tell I got my anger issues from him? He lets go of my shoulder, looking at me with sharp eyes.
"This is Y/N." I stressed out, staring into my father's eyes the entire time as he chuckled darkly, smiling and giving my shoulder a few harsh pats. I grunted, catching Y/N's attention as she rubbed my bicep, making me look down at her.
"Lovely to meet you, Y/N. I'm Cheri, and this is Pete. We're Griff and Hailee's parents." Mom announced, a bittersweet tone in her voice. Such a faker.
"I gathered." Y/N sassily chuckled, making me smile a little at her sarcasm that made my parents smiles drop. She dragged me away, pulling me into the room around the corner. "What's going on? Who are your parents? Why are they here? Why are they such bitches?"
I chuckle at her last sentence, nodding my head in agreement but I stay quiet, leaning against the wall with my hands shoved in the pockets of my pants. "Hey." Y/N softly said, walking towards me as she cupped my face in her warm hands, making me look at her. I noticed her reassuring smile. "Are you okay?"
I glance down for a moment, exhaling shakily before nodding. "Yeah. I'm fine, don't worry." I secure and she looked as if she knew I was lying but she didn't question it further. "Let's just get through this dinner."

| Y/N's POV |
I hate Hailee's parents, they're such fakers and major bitches. I can't stand them, luckily, they were leaving now. It's been a painful 2 hours.
"Happy thanksgiving, you guys." Cheri smiled, her tone a little too cheery. "You have a good night." She exited out the door, I see Pete approach Hailee, ignoring Griffin's entire presence, but he didn't care, he seemed more worried about Hailee.
"How much money do you make?" I hear her father ask, I could see Hailee's jaw clench.
"Just because your business is failing, doesn't mean you get to have any part of mine." Hailee growled in his face, causing Pete to back up, but a harsh glare was on his face. "So get out of my house and never come back."
"I hope you have a second home to go to." Pete whispered before leaving out the door. Hailee looked confused, looking to her brother who was equally confused. It wasn't until Matthew, their bodyguard, came rushing in.
"Ms. Steinfeld!" He yelled, his voice in a panicked tone. "Our security sensors picked up a high powered weapon somewhere in the mansion. Seems to be a bomb."
"Goddamn it, dad!" Hailee barked, slamming her fist against the wall, creating a hole in it as she walked out of the room in a hurry, Griffin following. I knew Hailee could cover this, but I needed to find a safe spot just in case.
I began my search around the mansion, wandering down each hall, turning every corner. I eventually found myself a window. I looked out of it, it was one floor up with a couple of bushes beneath. There also looked to be a helicopter with a helipad on a cliff.
I opened the window, but all of a sudden, I heard a loud bang, it didn't seem to damage the mansion much but the sound and the amount of pressure it sent through the house, it broke all the windows, including mine. But at that moment, I was already halfway out the window, so the breaking of the glass caused me to fall through it, and collapse into the bushes, rolling onto the dirt.
I looked at the helicopter, the key was inside, this could be it. I could escape, I could finally leave this place.
I heard Hailee rush outside, standing about 8 feet away from me. "Y/N?!" She yelled, looking at me as she was covered in debris and dirt. I looked back over at her, glancing between her and the helicopter. I can leave. Or stay forever.
I ran...
