| Y/N's POV |

Taylor guided us over to the massive dining hall, Hailee and I immediately sat down at one end of a long, but not too long, table. Taylor folded her hands in her lap while kicking her feet up on the edge of table, an intimidating look on her face and her scary looking combat boots added to it.

"So." Taylor swirled the red wine in her glass once it was handed to her. "I'm guessing the reason you're here is for your precious O'Connell's. Right?" I know Taylor and Hailee are friends, but moments like these are what really test the waters of their friendship.

Will they put each other or their business first?

"Yes." Hailee kept her cool, her hand squeezing mine before letting go as she stood up. The brief case was settled on the edge of the table — her hand was still cuffed to it but her fingers tauntingly tapped against it. "If you give them to me, I'll make it worth your while."

"How much?" Taylor jumped up and gently slammed her hands on both sides of the table, staring the brief case down.

"I'll give you $200,000 right now for them to walk free forever." Hailee used her thumb print to unlock the case. Popping it open, she flipped the case around and Taylor immediately eyed the money. "Do we have a deal?"

"This is a lot to offer. Especially from someone who gives nothing but a pretty penny to anyone." Taylor clapped back, eyes shooting up towards my girlfriend's. "Why now?"

"I don't like giving my money to people undeserving of it." Hailee slammed the case shut again. "I like you, Taylor. One day our businesses could grow and unite to become more powerful, but for now, take the damn money and give me back my family." Her voice was powerful, unnerving and filled with determination.

It was sexy.

Taylor stared at her before a small smile broke out on her lips, a chuckle escaping her throat. "You sure haven't changed, Steinfeld." She sighed to herself. "Deal." She soon said after moments of silence.

Hailee's eyebrows shoot up as Taylor approached our end of the table, shaking Hailee's hand. My girlfriend used her thumb print to open the case again while one of her bodyguards unlocked the cuffs. Hailee pushed the case over to Taylor with such force but the blonde slammed a hand down on it, chuckling mischievously.

"Bring the O'Connell's up from the brig." Taylor commanded in authority to her men. They quickly ushered off. The blonde looked up again. "I hope to never cross paths with your parents ever again."

"Pete is dead." Hailee blunts, surprise overcoming Taylor's face. "I don't know about Cheri, but I know she's not as powerful without him. The business will crumble. And so will she." Her eyes filled with anger at the thought of her parents. My hand found hers and I placed a kiss to her cheek after standing up to join her side. Hailee quickly relaxed at my touch.

"Good." Taylor hummed in satisfaction and looked between us. "Am I invited to the wedding? And the baby shower, too?" A deep blush settled on my cheeks as I thought about the possibly of marriage.

"Definitely." Hailee confirmed with a small grin. Our moment was cut short when Taylor's men returned with Finneas and Claudia.

"Y/N. Hailee." They both gasped and when they were released, they sprinted towards me first, wrapping me up a super tight, bear hug. Hailee still wasn't one for physical touch from friends, but I was a different story so. "Is it really you guys?"

"Are you okay?" Hailee answered their question with another one. Worry and concern filled her hazel irises.

"Yeah." Finneas answered while exhaling slowly. He soon had a panicked look on her face. "Billie."

"She's safe." I place my hands on his shoulders with a reassuring smile. He physically relaxed and Claudia smiled while hugging him.

"Ugh, love makes people weak." Taylor groans as she walks away, aggressively throwing the case into the arms of one of her men. "Yet I crave it." She soon turns to Hailee. "You never wished to date and yet here you are with a pregnant girlfriend of almost two years. How? And why?"

"Expect the unexpected, I guess." Hailee shrugged. Her eyes traveled over to me — her arms wrapped around my waist and I leaned into her front.

Taylor let out another chuckle. "Can I find what you have?" She lightly joked, but Hailee and I knew it wasn't a joke.

"You will, Swift." Hailee cocked her head to the side with a small teasing smirk. "Till then... try not to kill too many people." She looks at me again while speaking her next few words. "It scares them away."
