| 3rd Person POV |

Hailee didn't even recognize herself. She lost a lot of weight during her coma, just laying around in bed for two weeks straight without performing her normal routines or exercises. She ran her finger along the outlines of her scars, her eyes trailing over her naked torso.

Y/N frowned, she was upset with the way Hailee viewing herself. "Babe." She gently closed her book, approaching the brunette from behind, wrapping her arms around her torso from behind. "What's wrong?"

"Are you seriously asking that question?" Hailee snapped, turning to Y/N frustrated, she sighed when the girl flinched back at her harsh tone. Hailee dropped her shoulders, wrapping her arms around the smaller girl, resting her chin on top of her head.

Y/N smiled a little, feeling successful with breaking down the hazel eyed girls walls. She rubbed the exposed skin of Hailee's upper body. "There's nothing wrong with your scars, Haiz." She stated, pulling away, just enough to look up at Hailee. "They show how brave you are. You tackled a terrorizing mafia boss out the window." Y/N rubbed Hailee's bicep.

The older girl sighed, finding comfort in Y/N's words and touch, she melted right then and there. Hailee didn't trust many people, but Y/N? She put a lot of trust into her. Hailee began to think about Billie, Y/N had broken the news to the girl. Hailee didn't show it but it was clear, she was upset. She was mostly mad at herself, mad she couldn't stop Donovan in time to keep Billie alive. Maybe then, Y/N wouldn't be so miserable.

"I'm just-" Hailee pulled away, taking a momentary pause in her words. "G-going to get a s-shirt." Y/N tilted her head as she watched the love of her life walk to her closet, slipping a long sleeve on. The doctor had stated that Hailee would develop a small stuttering problem, Hailee didn't like it, Y/N knew it was because she thought it made her less intimidating.

"Wanna cuddle?" Y/N offered, laying in Hailee's bed as she opened her arms for the taller girl. Hailee sniffled, walking over weakly to the bed, laying on top of Y/N, inhaling her scent that brought comfort to her body, making her relax more when she felt Y/N's hand brush up to the back of Hailee's neck, rubbing her neck. "Just rest, baby. You're safe." Y/N murmured, Hailee nodding softly as she hid her face in the latter's chest, mumbling a soft 'thank you' as the brunette slowly drifted off to sleep.

Y/N watched her, a proud and adoring smile on her face as she watched Hailee sleep without hesitation.  It was the most perfect sight to her, some might not understand why, but if only they knew Hailee like Y/N has grown to.

| Hailee's POV |

It felt like a dream. Or a nightmare, really. The reoccurring nightmare of my fall. I remember it all, the pain that struck my body the moment I made contact with the ground. I remember feeling so many things at once; pain, fear, sadness, and anger. Pain, because I was practically dying. Fear, because I was so scared of losing Y/N, that she almost lost me. Sadness, because I couldn't save Billie. Anger, because falling in love with Y/N just caused both me and her problems.

But I can't let her go. I never will and I don't want to. I love her, I confessed that, moments before I deceased into a coma. She never said it back.

The same nightmare replayed over and over and over and over again in my head until one point, the moment I hit the ground, I was sitting up in Y/N's lap, waking her fork her nap as she looked at me confused, watching me pant heavily and look around, sweat forming on my forehead.

"Haiz?" The girl beneath me called out, trying to pull me from my fearful world. "Honey." She snapped her fingers in front of my gaze, resting a hand against my cheek to force me to look at her. "What's wrong? Did you have a nightmare?"

All I could do was nod, not trusting myself to speak as Y/N hummed in understanding. She grabbed the back of my head, gently and slowly, pulling me back down to lay on her chest. She slipped her hand under my shirt, tracing my scars that made me tense up for only a moment before relaxing, feeling her touch soothe me.

"It's okay, babe." She cooed, her voice soft and comforting as she placed a reassuring kiss to my forehead. "We'll get through this together, I promise."
