The Wolf and the Fox

Chapter 13

Pov. story teller

Taboo watched Toty go further and further away and slowly disappeared into the horizon.

-    Why is he going what happened? - Asked Taboo to Tora

"He's just alone with no one, while everyone else has a date," Tora said.

"He's a wolf and he couldn't stay here forever, eventually he'd have to go," Tora said.

"He can't go around like that." said Taboo

"I can't stop him." Tora said.

"I'll go after him.” Taboo said.

-    No! It's his choice, and there's nothing you can do." Tora said.

-    Taboo! - said Tora, seeing that the girl was going towards the wolf.

Tora tried to make Taboo stay but it was useless, and Taboo ran in the direction the wolf was going but before heading towards the wolf a voice in his head told him to take his bow and arrows and that's what he did before going after Toty.

-    What is happening? - Tina asked Tora, seeing Taboo running.

"Toty's gone and Taboo wants to go after him." Tora said.

-    What? - Tina asked in surprise.

-    Toty wanted to leave and doesn't want anyone to go after him. - Tora said

"Toty can't go out there like that, it could be dangerous." Tina said.

"Do something Tora," Tina said.

-    There's nothing I can do, he said he doesn't want to be followed and he's a wolf, not a human, he knows how to defend himself. - said Tora.

Toty walked a little aimlessly, taking a few provisions because he really wanted to get of there as quickly as possible without looking back, because for him that would be much more painful.

As the wolf walked, he tried to make an effort not to look back because that would bring him very sad memories.

With each step that Toty took far away from there, several memories came to his mind, and they were so real that he could see him and Tina running through those fields full of flowers in  front of him, and when he looked to the right he saw the day that Tora shot down a huge black mammoth that was quite sinister. Toty smiled to himself as he remembered when Tora haunted him saying that mammoth was going to come back.

Toty had one more memory but now it was with Taboo, the two were playing with fighting but, Toty lost with Taboo grabbing him by the neck and him trying to free himself but he couldn't.

The memories with Taboo weren't very good, she had some very heavy games, especially with Toty, and the other boys walked away from her because she was very angry and preferred to be alone.

Toty had a few more memories of Taboo pulling his tail and trying to open his mouth.

Toty was startled by those memories with someone coming after him and that someone was  Taboo, she came running from behind while shouting Toty's name.

-    Taboo? What does she want? - Thought Toty.

Toty stopped for a minute and turned towards Taboo who was approaching him.

-    What do you want Taboo? - Asked Toty.

-    What are you doing? - Taboo asked.

-    I'm leaving. - Toty said a little sad.

-    But why? Taboo asked

-    I have to follow my course and my place is not there. - Said Toty.
