Gelan was a very skilled person, incredible cook, experienced nurse, and ex housekeeper to Shen Wei in a different lifetime but was able to access her previous memories similar to Shen Wei. She was also the person in charge of the specialised security that Chu had spoken of to Lin Jing about guarding the outside of Yunlan's house. Both Chu and Da Qing had known her previously, therefore they were aware of just how special her guards really were, except they weren't hers, they were Black Robe's but at present, she commanded them. They were commanded to watch the stranger in the park but keep a low profile and follow anyone who visits the house until they categorise them as harmless. She also asked two of them to make a highly visible display of painters being hired to work on the outside of the front of the building, as a distraction for the watcher in the park.
Yunlan could smell the wonderful aroma of Gelan's cooking and heard her approach the room.
"Your meal is ready to be served but it would be more comfortable for both of you if we had a small dining room upstairs, so I'm going to ask a couple of workmen to reorganise one of your rooms Yunlan, if that's alright with you, and also, there are two painters coming to work on the front of the building, mainly to keep the watcher in the park occupied, make him feel even more bored than he is now."
"I don't mind having an upstairs dining room, but what are the painters going to do, nothing major I hope? Yunlan asked.
"No Yunlan, just paint round window frames to distract your watcher, and if you happen to seeanyone prowling around the back of the house, don't worry, they belong to me, security. I'llbring a small table in and you can eat here today, but we'll organise the other room tomorrow for meals," and Gelan left, returning to the kitchen to bring dinner for Yunlan and Wei.
Da Qing carried one of the trays while Gelan carried the other and left the food for the invalids to enjoy. Later on, she returned and collected the trays plus empty plates to take away for washing, asking if they would like anything else.
"No Gelan thank you, dinner was wonderful. Maybe a warm drink before we settle down. Tomorrow when the new dining area is being organised, could you include tea and coffee making facilities, then we can be more independent in a small way?" Yunlan suggested.
"Yes, a very good idea, I'll ask the workmen to set it up for you. Now can you manage to undress yourselves and not disturb the dressings on your feet, or do you need help?" Gelan asked.
"No thank you, we'll manage, what room are you using or will you be going home?" Yunlan hadnever thought to ask if Gelan was going to be a live in carer, or Da Qing.
"Da Qing and I will be here until we are no longer required, my room is only four doors away and Da Qing has a basket, he'll put it in here if that's alright."
