Shen Wei had been listening in for a short while ready to stop Da Qing if he thought it was required but not so far, and decided not to interfere with fate. The fact that they had met again, meant that Da Qing was here to help Yunlan and he was impressed that he had worked out such an important detail that they all had missed. There was only one name on the hit list and that was Yunlan's. Wei would need to increase his reading to find out if the book could give him an insight as to who was involved with the contract to kill his lover.

In the library, Yunlan was wandering around the portraits with Da Qing right behind him, ready to explain anything that he didn't understand, when they arrived at a psychedelic type painting, and he stared at it.

"What is that one, I don't think I've seen anything like that before."

Da Qing stepped forward and then quickly turned away from it to explain.

"It's a Synaesthesia type of picture. It releases unknown skills or encourages them, or brings them to the surface. Its not something I would stare at." and he waved his hand in front of Yunlan's face to break his contact with the painting which took several moments before he blinked and moved on to the next. It was a painting of Black Robe wearing the golden orb visibly on top of his clothing and Yunlan instantly recognised it as the same one in the sealed room downstairs. Da Qing had become very quiet, offering no information on this image while he looked down at the floor. This change of behaviour had not gone unnoticed and Yunlan could feel a slight chill in the library as he looked at the cat who wouldn't speak.

"Its alright Wei, I won't ask him, when its time you'll tell me. Lets move on Da Qing." and the heat immediately returned to the room. Yunlan put his hand on the young cat's shoulder and smiled while leading him away from the image of the orb. They quickly passed the remaining paintings as Da Qing gave a simpler explanation of each in turn and headed towards the metal spiral staircase to bring them down, but stopped when Yunlan saw another stand alone table with a wrapped item on top, and he went over to collect it before descending behind Da Qing.

Once they were both on the ground floor, he unwrapped it, revealing a watch, with an old fashioned round dial, leather strap with a winder, not digital, analogue, a beautiful piece of work in mint condition. Da Qing almost laughed because he recognised it but didn't touch it.

"It's yours, I never knew why it was worn or kept, but Yunlan loved it, precision time piece. He wore it on his left wrist because the whip was on his right, and I had some strange memories of that whip as well."

Yunlan rolled up his sleeve to show Da Qing.

"You mean this whip?" and it slowly uncurled and floated towards the cat's neck, rolled around it twice and returned to Yunlan's arm, leaving the lost silver charm with Da Qing who fingered it slowly as his eyes filled with huge tears.
