The mountain was beautiful, full of autumn colours and an early sun with the last of the pinks disappearing and replaced by its strong light. The cave was halfway up the mountain and sat on a small plateau which gave them space to walk around and enjoy the scenery, taking some of the unimportant equipment out of the cave to make space for the guards and Shen Wei. Yunlan studied the mountain wall above the cave, noting that it could be brought down if he had to, and seal them in for protection. He walked over to the edge of the plateau and looked down. It would be possible for experienced climbers to negotiate these cliff walls, and he was hoping that they would not have to deal with that kind of situation.
Wei was almost ready and sent for Yunlan before they began. The guards had made him a bed to lie on for comfort and were starting to take their places when Yunlan entered causing them all to face him and drop to their knees in respect, which shocked him slightly but remembered that the hologram had started calling him by the title, My Lord, and realised that his status had changed, to what? He didn't know. He walked over to Wei who was lying down waiting on him, and knelt down beside him.
"A-Lan, protect yourself before me, you must not die, I haven't had time to explain any ..."
"Stop Xaio Wei, I know everything, concentrate on getting better, heal your injuries and then wecan have a long and wonderful life together ... here in the mountains ... if you wish ... feel myhand ... feel my love ... rest your eyes ... you are protected ... there is no danger ... sleep well."
Yunlan gave Wei one small kiss on his forehead after he had sent him to sleep and arose to speak to the guards as they all turned and faced him before kneeling.
"Black Robe must rise to help this world defeat the monster beyond the doorway. He would not want any one of you to suffer during this transfer and neither would I. If you reach your limit, shut down but keep the circle intact for the others. If there is any danger, I will seal the cave for you to carry on. I expect us to have visitors, no matter what you hear, don't stop the process."
Yunlan looked at the six guards and he knew that they would not stop even if one of them died but he could not think of a way to give them his help, he would probably be very busy outside when that time came, and he left the cave.
Lin Jing positioned himself near the edge of the cliff to watch for any climbers, along with Chu who could use his strings to defend himself but was worried that Lin Jing couldn't do anything, he didn't have a weapon and he approached him to give him something that might help.
"Lin Jing, you have a strong mind, have you ever tried to confuse anyone?" Chu asked but got a puzzled look back.
"Jing, not that kind of confusion, look at the cat, he's playing with a small flower, watch."
Da Qing had been twirling a flower in his hand but he put it down at his feet to catch a ball that had bounced beside him and then blinked when there was no ball.
