Yunlan awoke on the long sofa to find Wei facing him from the bed where he was lying with a radiant smile as he stared without blinking. He tried to hold the stare back at Wei but laughed when he blinked.
"You win, I blinked, good morning Xaio Wei, you look wonderful this morning, did you sleepwell?"
"The best sleep for a long time, Gelan will be here soon to talk to me, stay where you are, youdon't need to go anywhere, Yunlan."
Wei could hear Gelan's footsteps and she was not alone, Da Qing and two guards accompanied her when she entered the bedroom and they all dropped to their knees bowing their heads, shocking Yunlan who had no idea what was happening.
"I am truly sorry if we overstepped the boundary last night and we are prepared for whateverpunishment you decide. We apologise for our behaviour. My Lord."
Yunlan's brain was beginning to put two and two together plus they addressed him as My Lord and he smiled waiting to hear what Wei would say.
"Thank you Gelan, Da Qing, Gentlemen. Gelan and Da Qing stay, Gentlemen you are dismissed with my gratitude." The guards left the room and waited downstairs for their next assignment from Gelan.
"You took an amazing risk last night, but I am extremely grateful, no punishment is necessary, my memory is perfect thanks to your bravery. Da Qing if I have insulted you in any way I apologise for my behaviour. Gelan, you have always had my best interest at heart in all my past lives, I will never forget what you have both done for me. But there is something you could do for Yunlan, remove his dressings so that he can wash his feet please Gelan."
Yunlan stared at Wei and then Gelan as she approached him and he drew his feet away expecting the same pain as he'd previously experienced, but she smacked him across an ankle and he barely felt it, so he stopped moving and looked across at Wei who was almost laughing at him. Gelan started removing the dressings from below his knee and working down to his foot and toes. His skin was perfect, not one mark and all the pain was gone, he couldn't believe it and watched as she removed the other one, revealing the perfect condition of the other leg. Yunlan stood up carefully at first and took a couple of steps and laughed, he was fine, back to normal but he soon realised that Wei was still bandaged and had not moved in the bed. Yunlan knew that he had used all his energy on him and had done nothing for his own injuries.
"Will you be able to heal your own?" Yunlan asked him, seriously.
"In a couple of days, I need time to build up some more energy, but I'm fine, I have a book toread and a new boyfriend who would be willing to help me around." and he smiled at Yunlan who wickedly grinned back at him.
Gelan and Da Qing slipped out quietly to make breakfast, leaving before the atmosphere could get any more embarrassing than it already was. Yunlan sat on the edge of the bed to speak to Wei more seriously.
