Everyone had assembled at Yunlan's mansion and would be staying there overnight making it very much easier for the guards to transport them in the morning. Lin Jing and Chu had separate rooms next door to each other in the same corridor as Gelan and Yunlan. The dining room would be ideal for breakfast for everyone and most of their equipment was already collected in the one area in the reception downstairs.
Yunlan was watching Wei reluctantly putting his book down, they needed an early night, it was going to be a busy day tomorrow and the power transfer would be draining for the guards, so Wei would have to be the one to bring them back safely.
Gelan offered to make hot drinks for everyone to help them settle and Da Qing helped by carrying the tray with the mugs to each of their rooms. Lin Jing was the first call with a hot creamy coffee and they tapped the door lightly and waited, but he never answered. Gelan cast a glance at Da Qing who nodded and she turned the handle to enter. Lin Jing was sitting at the side of the bed with his small case beside him, he had started to unpack and stopped. He looked as if he was in shock, frozen, couldn't move with silent tears slowly dripping from his face ignoring both of them who were standing staring.
"Fetch Chu, I'll stay here." Gelan told the cat.
Da Qing ran and tapped Chu's door but entered without waiting for an answer, finding him sitting on the edge of the bed in almost the same emotional condition, staring into space. He'd never seen Chu shed tears but now he was weeping in silence, the same as Lin Jing, and he left him to return to Gelan and explain.
They both rushed straight to Shen Wei's room and found Yunlan trying to talk to Wei who was also in a state of shock with tears quietly flowing. Gelan couldn't understand why all three were acting exactly the same way and she called the guards who never answered.
"Stay here Da Qing and see what you can find out, you have my permission to mind readanyone." and Gelan went to see what was wrong downstairs with the guards, they never behaved in this way and possibly it was connected to the unexplained behaviour upstairs.
"Talk to me Wei, what's wrong, I know its bad my love, but tell me or show me if you can'tspeak."
Wei glanced at Yunlan who was sitting at eye level in front of him on a soft seat and he shook his head negatively.
"Yes Wei, show me, its alright, I can take it."
Wei slowly placed his hands on either side of Yunlan's head and waited for him to change his mind but he didn't, and he sent the heart breaking images to his mind, while his tears blinded him. It was slightly foggy at first, then it cleared, Chang Cheng had witnessed everything from his position. After he gave his report and had left to go home he turned back because he had forgotten to collect another sweet energy bar.
