"She pointed at him, at his picture. She knew he was missing. I could tell."

Arlo POV:

"Like she's running from someone," Y/N said as I narrowed my eyes at her.

"Are you sure? Did you see the face?" I asked, and she shook her head.

"When I saw her memory, she kept glancing back like checking if anyone was following her," she said.

"Then she definitely ran away from her home," I said, and she looked down as if she didn't believe me.

"Y/N, look, tomorrow Mike's plan will be executed, and she will be in police hands, and we can go look for Will," I said, but she still looked down and nodded her head.

"We must find Will," she said, still not looking up.

"And also," I said, waiting for her to look up, "don't overuse the power," I said, and she nervously chuckled as I smiled.

"I won't," she said, and we both looked at each other. Then I cleared my throat.

"Okay then, see you tomorrow," I said as I pedaled and drove away to my home.

"See you," I heard her say.

"See you," I heard her say as I smiled to myself. Y/N and I had been best friends for as long as we could remember, all because of my brother and her sister. She had always been there for me when my parents argued and didn't spend time with me.

I liked her more than just as a friend.

As I'm thinking about Y/N, I came to a stop at my house and put my bike in the garage, I noticed Steve's car pulling in and parking. When he stepped out of the driver's seat, we both looked at each other, realizing that we were not supposed to be out.

"I told you not to go out at night," Steve said, and I rolled my eyes and walked into the house.

"Look who's talking," I said as I went to the kitchen, with Steve following me.

"Where have you been?" he asked me.

"Where have you been?" I asked him back.

"Arlo," Steve said.

"Steve," I said as we both stared at each other, then I sighed.

"Fine, I'm at Y/N's," I said. "Now it's your turn," he stayed silent.

"Ah, you must be at your girlfriend's house," I said, shaking my head and opening the fridge.

"Arlo, she's a nice girl, you will like her," Steve said.

"I don't care, and I'll never like her," I said, taking an apple and closing the fridge.

"Why?" he asked. "She's your friend's sister."
