"Then from who?"

Y/N POV:

After we discovered Eleven's powers, Lucas, Dustin, and Arlo agreed not to tell anyone about her. Then, Arlo, Dustin, and Lucas distracted Mike's mom while Mike and I sneaked Eleven into the basement.

El sat in the tent as Mike and I looked at each other, then at her.

"She has powers like you, Y/N," Mike said.

"Do you think they are after her powers?" I asked him as we went to El and kneeled in front of her.

"El," I called, and she looked up at me.

"The bad men, are they after your powers?" I asked her, seeing visible fear in her eyes.

"Yes," she said, looking down.

"El, you don't have to be afraid," Mike said as she looked up at him. "Y/N has powers like you," Mike said as she looked at me.

"What power?" she slowly asked me.

"Similar to your power, but I can control others' minds," I said, and she nodded. I could tell she only half understood.

"Yes, Mom. Okay, Mom, I'll be careful," I said into the phone and then hung up. I turned to Arlo, Lucas, and Dustin, who were all waiting to talk to their parents.

I stepped back as Lucas went next and called his parents, then Dustin followed suit and called his parents.

"Well, my parents are not at home," Arlo said. "Steve's going to have a party."

"Then my sister is definitely going there," I added.

"Dinner is ready," we heard Mike's mom announce. We all sat at the table: Lucas sat next to Mike's dad, Arlo sat next to Lucas, and then I sat next to Arlo.

Soon, Mike and Nancy joined us, and we all sat down to start dinner. However, the five of us didn't eat; we were all lost in thought. Mike's mom noticed our distraction.

"Is something wrong with the meatloaf?" she asked as we looked up at her.

"Oh, no, I had two bologna sandwiches for lunch," Dustin said. "I don't know why."

"Me, too," Lucas, Arlo, and I said simultaneously, exchanging nervous glances and chuckling.

"It's delicious, Mommy," Nancy said.

"Thank you, sweetie."

"So, there's this special assembly thing tonight for Will at the school field. Barb's driving," Nancy mentioned, and I exchanged a knowing look with Arlo, aware of her plans for the evening.

"Why am I just hearing about this?" Karen asked her.

"I thought you knew," Nancy replied.

"I told you, I don't want you out after dark until Will is found."
