"Whoa, lovebirds! Are we interrupting something here?"

Y/N POV:

After a while, Mike got up and walked out of the school, returning after a minute.

"They're gone," Mike said, standing in front of us.

"What?" we all asked, confused.

"Nancy, Y/s/n, and Jonathan. His car's gone," Mike explained.

"Did they go with the Chief?" Arlo asked.

"No, they didn't," I answered as i noticed El shifting beside me.

"El, do you know where they went?" Mike asked, noticing El's expression.

"Yes," she said.

"Where did they go?"

"Demogorgon," Eleven said, making us all look at each other in worry.

The five of us stood facing each other as El sat on the bench, still weak.

"Guys, guys, this is crazy. We can't just wait around," Mike exclaimed.

"Mike, in case you forgot, we are fugitives. The bad men are still looking for us," Arlo said.

"And we don't even know where your sister and Y/n's sister are," Dustin added.

"El can find them," Mike pointed out.

"Mike, look at her," I exclaimed, pointing at Eleven. "She is still drained."

"And I still think we should stick to the Chief's plan," Dustin said.

"Exactly. We stay here, keep El out of sight, and keep her safe," Lucas ordered. "That's the most important thing, remember.

"Besides, Nancy's okay. She's with Y/n's sister and Jonathan," Arlo said.

"Yeah, and Y/n's sister's kind of a badass," Dustin smirked.

"And also, guys, remember we have to keep Y/n's power a secret too," Arlo said.

"Yeah, We don't want her to be a weapon, right?" Lucas asked Mike as he looked at me, then looked down.

"Yeah," Mike affirmed.

"Okay, then we'll see if chocolate pudding is available in the cafeteria," I said, grabbing Arlo's arm as he started to walk with me.

"Are you serious?" Mike asked.

"El needs to be recharged," I explained.

I swung open the fridge, and Arlo and I lit up when we saw puddings.

"Whoa," I exclaimed as Arlo and I started to load up.

"Hey, do you remember that time when Steve and my sister tried to make chocolate pudding and almost set the kitchen on fire?" I chuckled.

"Oh, how could I forget? It was like a scene from a disaster movie. Pudding everywhere, smoke alarms blaring," Arlo laughed.

"And they also blamed it on us," I added, recalling the chaos.

"Right! And then we had to explain to your mom why there was chocolate pudding on the ceiling," Arlo said, both of us bursting into laughter.

Arlo grinned, "They totally blamed us for the pudding chaos. Can you believe it?"

I chuckled, nodding, "Yeah, we got caught in the crossfire for sure."

Arlo's grin lingered as he shifted the conversation, "You know, those crazy times make the best stories. Oh, and that beach day? The sunset was epic. You were just standing there, and it felt... I don't know, really cool."

I nodded, recalling the moment. "Yeah, it was pretty epic."

Arlo's tone turned a bit more thoughtful, "In moments like that, you realize your friends are important. Like, a bunch."

Raising an eyebrow, I asked, "What's that supposed to mean, Arlo?"

He hesitated, glancing away, "Um, I guess what I'm saying is... I like being your friend. I like you, even if I don't say it much."

My heart raced as I turned to him, and he was already staring at me. We both stared at each other.

"Y/n he said he likes being friends with you. This is not a confession," I thought to myself.

I opened my mouth to say I like him too, but the door burst open. Arlo let out a sigh and in walked Dustin and Lucas, grinning mischievously.

Dustin playfully nudged Arlo, "Whoa, lovebirds! Are we interrupting something here?"

Lucas chimed in, "Yeah, did we stumble into a romance novel or what?"

I looked away, biting my lips, as Arlo also looked and said, "Guys, we were just talking"

Dustin smirked, "Sure, sure. 'Talking.' We know what's really going on."

Lucas winked, "Yeah, keep the mushy stuff for later, lovebirds."

"Shut up," I said, shaking my head.

The room filled with laughter as we each grabbed armfuls of chocolate pudding cups. With Dustin and Lucas by my side, we approached the table where El was seated. However, we noticed that Mike was nowhere in sight. Undeterred, we dropped our piles onto the table, and the sound of the plastic cups meeting the surface echoed in the room.

"This will charge you right up," Dustin declared, a mischievous glint in his eye, as El gazed at the tins in amazement.

Just as we were about to dig into the sweet treat, Mike rushed in.

"Guys! They found us!" Mike exclaimed, instantly shifting the mood from playful to tense.

"The bad men found us!" Mike said, rushing up to us.

"Shit!" I yelled as we grabbed our bags and started to run down the corridor.
