𝑨𝑻 𝑬𝑰𝑮𝑯𝑻 Thirty in the morning, Mia and Eli were greeted by a very distressed Christiana standing at their door."What's wrong, Chrissy?" Eli asked, his face lighting up with concern as soon as he saw the look on hers.
"Brian knows about JJ," Christiana said, her voice tinged with frustration.
"How does he know about Jesse?" Mia asked, raising an eyebrow in confusion as she walked toward the door.
"I told him!" Christiana huffed, her frustration palpable, only adding to the confusion.
"How exactly did you tell him...you're all emotional?" Eli asked, his concern deepening as he stared at her.
"I didn't tell him on purpose, you idiot!" Christiana hissed, slapping Eli's arm lightly.
"Okay, okay, how about you come inside, Christiana? Our neighbors have seen you in distress one too many times," Mia said, grabbing Christiana's arm and pulling her into the house.
"I don't come over upset that much," Christiana muttered, but Mia wasn't buying it.
"You cried on the porch two weeks ago because you dropped your purse," Mia pointed out with a teasing smile.
"That doesn't count! I was having a bad day!" Christiana retorted, rolling her eyes.
Eli cut through their banter, his tone serious. "I feel like we're pivoting away from the bigger issue here. How does Brian know?"
Christiana sighed, sinking into a chair. "He came over last night, saw Jesse's toy car, asked about it, and I... accidentally let it slip."
"So that's it?" Mia asked, folding her arms skeptically.
"Well, he technically harassed me until I told him," Christiana mumbled, rubbing her temples at the memory.
"What do you mean he harassed you?" Eli perked up, his eyes wide with concern.
"Not like that! He just kept asking questions and repeating himself," Christiana clarified, relieved when Eli sighed in relief.
"Wait, wait, wait. Why was Brian even at your house last night?" Mia asked, her confusion growing.
