𝑪𝑯𝑹𝑰𝑺𝑻𝑰𝑨𝑵𝑨 wished her day was going a little better. For the past two days, Jesse had been anxious and crying nonstop. Every time she asked him what was wrong, her heart broke all over again. His answer was always the same: he missed his dad.She tried everything to comfort him. On the first day, she called Brian seven times. She knew it was probably foolish, especially with him being an FBI agent preparing for an undercover mission, but she was willing to look desperate if it meant getting him to talk to their son.
When that didn't work, the next day she decided to take Jesse out, hoping the fresh air would help, with Mia and Eli coming along for support. They were sitting on a bench, watching Jesse run around, when Christiana finally spoke up, her voice filled with exhaustion.
"I wish he didn't cry so much. It's breaking me... It's making me want to cry too," she confessed, looking down at her hands.
"You can cry if you need to," Mia said gently, reaching out to place a hand on Christiana's knee.
"I know," Christiana replied quietly, her voice tight, "but one of us has to stay strong. I don't want to make Jesse worry more if I start crying."
Eli, sitting next to them, looked at Christiana with a mixture of sympathy and frustration. "I'd tell you to cry now, but you'd probably end up worrying everyone if you did that," he remarked dryly, though his words held no real humor.
Christiana rolled her eyes, a small, weary smile breaking through. "I'll just save it for the shower after Jesse's asleep," she said, rubbing her face in frustration.
Mia let out a frustrated sigh, her concern for both Christiana and Jesse palpable. "I can't believe Brian hasn't called."
"Honestly, I'm surprised too," Eli replied, shaking his head. "He got all defensive when we talked last time. Now he's just... gone."
Christiana's jaw tightened. She slapped Eli lightly on the knee. "Don't say he's gone, Eli. Let's just say he's busy. He is an FBI agent after all."
"He needs to make an appearance soon he's already a Liar being a Liar and not showing up for his son is just sick" Eli Commented.
