“How did it go?” Wednesday asked, taking a small sip of her coffee. It had been two days since their conversation about Nevermore, which also happened to be the topic of the conversation at hand. “Surprisingly, he was really open to the idea,” Tyler spoke from behind the counter, washing mugs with a wet washcloth. He had been washing the same cup for two minutes already, it was obvious his attention was fully on her. Wednesday had managed to convince Tyler to join her, mostly because a part of her wanted him by her side, and the fact he was a serial killer also would help. (Nobody knows killers more than other killers.) The night previous, Tyler had decided to talk to his dad about attending Nevermore, and he had expected a bad reaction. One that would end up with him getting a lecture about the school and the outcast’s ‘bad behavior.’

It was obvious the people of Jericho didn’t take kindly to outcasts, so the fact his dad said yes to him going was huge. Both Wednesday and Tyler both knew the real reason he was allowed to go, but neither mentioned it. His dad knew about who he was. He knew there would be no better place for him to be normal, being who he was than at Nevermore. The fact the school even accepted his application was a miracle and on such short notice.

“Have you packed? Lurch will be driving us.” Tyler checked the clock, taking note his shift ended five minutes from then. “I knew you would ask that. Yeah, my stuff is down over here.” He gestured towards the ground behind the counter. Wednesday got up from her spot, coming over just to peek at the amount of stuff he had decided to bring. One small blue suitcase lay on the floor, and she almost thought her vision was going faulty prematurely. Tyler could feel the judgemental stare coming on, “Did you really expect me to bring much else?” He asked, beginning to wonder how many bags she had. Maybe he didn’t want to know.

“Is it all clothing?”

“Of course it is. Did you expect me to bring a guillotine?”

Touche.

The car ride there wasn’t as tense as she had expected it to be. It seemed just like any other normal time they would sit at the cafe alone together, only this time it wasn’t the cafe, and it was her family’s car. Speaking of, her family was very supportive of her going back to Nevermore (of course) and were thrilled to hear she wasn’t just going by herself, either. Her mother was especially ecstatic to hear she was going with Tyler.

Wednesday’s entire life had been her going against her parent’s wishes, so for her to be living out part of what she had gotten to, (that being partial teen romance) was very exciting for Morticia.

‘Thing’ sat patiently on Wednesday’s right shoulder, closest to the window as she sat on the right, admiring the view. Tyler sat to her left, looking out his respective window. While the two beside her did nothing, Wednesday was going through her notes, trying to see if she was missing any clues as of yet. With barely anything to go off of besides the fact this murderer planned to grab Wednesday’s attention, she couldn’t exactly begin to start finding out who this person was.

The car stopping was the signal for the two to step out of the vehicle, and they did. Both had already been to the school previously, (Wednesday as a student, and Tyler for the dance) so the dreadful, yet beautiful school was of no surprise to them. What was a surprise, to Tyler at least, was the amount of luggage Wednesday brought. Sure, they were staying there for the entire school year, but she had at least 20 trunks full of stuff he couldn’t even begin to think about.
