“Isn’t it all so beautiful?” Enid gushed, her eyes glistening, hands pressed up against a tiny Christmas shop in Jericho. It was one of the best stores in the area for Christmas decorations, crafts, and the like. What Enid particularly liked was the fact the entire store was divided into sections depending on color. She spent a lot of time in the colorful sections, while Wednesday stayed near the other side, with darker, more neutral shades surrounding her. The shop was so small that one had to back into other aisles to let other people squeeze by, but people could argue the small space was worth it given how beautiful the decor was. Wednesday was unbiased about the whole ordeal. She wasn’t huge on holidays, it didn’t mean much to her as it had to others. Most people loved Christmas for the gifts; but gifts weren’t her thing, since she hated receiving random gifts, especially if she didn’t like what she had been given.

“What should I get Ajax?” Enid began, twirling a strand of hair around her finger as she pondered the thought. “Shouldn’t you know? You’re always clung onto him like a lost puppy.” Wednesday vacantly replied, Enid, huffing lightly in response. “I think I’ll find him some new beanies…” Enid trailed off, leaving Wednesday alone in the aisle, awkwardly standing there, clearly out of place amongst the lights and warm displays. She hadn’t even thought about buying Christmas gifts, it was the first year she had friends to give gifts to in the first place. Sure, she gave a gift to her family each year, but they weren’t something she would go out and buy. Rather something she already had on hand, or she created herself.

She began to wonder if she should buy Tyler anything…

By the time Enid was done, an hour had passed, and her arms were full of ornaments for her tree in the dorm, and some were gifts for everyone. She had a lot of people to buy for, her family was quite large after all. “Did you get anything?” Enid asked, eyeing Wednesday’s empty hands. “No, I don’t see a point.” Wednesday was going to buy things, but she didn’t want Enid to know that. She would freak out, and while it would have been in a good way; a freak out is still a freakout. “Suit yourself!”

The two headed out of the store, making their way back toward the other shops. Enid was mostly interested in heading to the clothing stores, and this was Wednesday’s chance to buy at least one item for either herself or someone else.

Once they stepped inside, they were immediately welcomed by the scent of fresh apple cinnamon, and all of the Christmas deals. Although the store they were in was insanely overpriced to begin with, these sales only brought the prices down to what they should have been in the first place. Regardless, it worked. “Hm..” Enid hummed to herself as she went through the different beanies, Wednesday heading over towards the shirts and sweaters.

One specific section caught her eye, the hoodies. Wednesday headed over, trying to avoid setting off the employee's radars so she wouldn’t have to hear, “Hi! Anything I can help you with?” a million times in a row. Her hands fell upon a black hoodie in the corner, it was certainly something she would wear. Her thoughts landed on Tyler though. As she grazed her hand over the fabric, she decided she would get it for him. Maybe it wasn’t quite his style, but the thought hadn’t crossed her mind. She was sure no matter what she got, he would still be happy about it, or just happy she had even bothered to get the gift in the first place.

The two met back at the cash registers, Enid looking to see the hoodie in her arms. “Is that for you?” Wednesday shakes her head, “No, Tyler.” Enid looked a bit surprised, but a smile spread across her face. “What? Seriously? Oh my god!” Wednesday instantly regretted bringing it up, trying to flag an employee's attention so she could just get out of there as quickly as possible.
