I rubbed the back of my head as Sanna went on and on about how Isabel kept her in the house doing chores for most of yesterday.
I had spent most of the day with Raquel and Kari as Dallas had some things to do with her family.
I glanced back toward the path as I saw Maverick walking down to me.
I groaned as I got up pulling something on my side.
Maverick reached out catching my arm, "Are you ok?"
I shook my head back at him, "Too much work in such a little amount of time."
Maverick smiled at me, "We leave for the raids this afternoon, how are you gonna ride for the next two days when you can't even stand?"
"I will be fine."
Maverick kept smiling at me, "I came to talk to Kane about the raids."
Sanna looked up at him, "My father isn't in."
"HE told me to meet him in the morning."
"Loki and Kane left a little bit ago." I said back to him.
"Which way did they go?"
I grabbed his arm as he went to walk off, "Maverick, I wouldn't push it."
Maverick looked back at me as Solomon and Maddox came out of the house. "I have to talk to him."
I watched as he walked back toward the village with something tight in his jaw.
Solomon glanced over at me, "What is that about?"
I shook my head as Kari walked down the path to us.
I held onto my side as Kari tossed the knife cover at me.
I shook my head as Solomon glanced over at me.
Kari smiled as she leaned up against the outside table, "Someone got cocky and she fell into the rocks."
Raquel came running across the field with her arms waving.
I stood up reaching for my sword when I saw the horses break the tree line.
Sanna glanced back as her eyes got wide.
Raquel jumped over the table taking the knife that I tossed over to her.
Maddox pushed Sanna behind him as Isabel looked at Solomon.
He shook his head as he walked toward the horses.
I flipped the blade over with it facing my back.
The horse in the front slowed as the young boy looked down at me.
"The hell do you want?"
"They stormed my house!" Raquel shouted from behind me.
I turned back to the boy, "Why?"
He slid down his horse tossing the rolled letter at me, "Since you are asking the questions."
I looked back at him as I tossed the letter over to Solomon. The entire thing was written in Irish. I couldn't read that and I wasn't about to try.
