The next day, I woke up to Sanna shaking me. I sat up in my bed looking back at her.

The sun hadn't even come up yet.

"What are you doing?"

"You have to come with me." Sanna said back to me.

I looked at her as something was off about her.

I nodded my head back at her as I got up and went with her out of the room.

At the end of the path that went down toward the little creek at the back of the house, Sanna bent down touching the neck of the horse.

I looked down at the horse as I saw another, "Who would kill a horse?"

"They came back here. I heard them crying as I got up for some reason. I came down here and saw them. Then I saw them."

I looked up as I saw the bodies hanging from the trees.

I covered my face as I tried to stop myself from throwing up.

"My father doesn't need to know about them. I need to cover it up." Sanna looked back at me.

"Someone cut those people up. They cut them in half Sanna." I said back to her.

"I didn't save you because we need help around the house, we need help saving this land." Sanna said back to me.

I grabbed her arm as she was shaking, "Listen to me, you shouldn't hide this from your father. The person that did this could be in the town. They could be here. You need him to know so that he can be on alert."

Sanna glanced back at me, "I'm only 16. I don't know anything about this kinda stuff McKenzie. I don't know how to protect these people."

I looked back at her.

I was only a few years older than her.

I was just a kid myself but this kid has so much more to handle then I have ever had to deal with.

I glanced back at the bodies.

This was not her problem anymore.

This was now my problem.

I pulled McKenzie back to the house and put her back into her bed.

I pushed the door open to his room as I could hear soft snoring.

I hit my foot on something as I tripped and landed on the floor.

I glanced up as Solomon was now awake looking back at me with a sword drawn. "I didn't mean to wake you like that."

Solomon shook his head, "What is wrong with you?"

"Your sister found something and I really think you should come and see it."

Solomon looked at me as I realized that he barely had anything covering himself up.

I looked away from him as he grabbed his blanket to cover himself.

"What are you saying?"

"She heard something and when she went out to see what it was she found your men tied up in the trees cut in half."
