31. And Now Come To an End

                She grabbed the guard and pushed him to the side as she looked up at him infront of her, "Maddox, why are we doing this?"

Maddox glanced back at Dallas, "We have orders and babysitters."

Dallas glanced over her shoulder at the babysitters that Loki put on them.

Maddox walked around the corner as he saw the village ahead of them, "Come on we have some talking to do to people."

"I really hate that we gotta do this to people." Dallas crossed her arms as the guards were glaring back at them.

Maddox grabbed her arm, "Just keep walking."

Dallas narrowed her eyes at him.

"I said keep walking!" Maddox pushed Dallas forward as the horse came barreling through them.

Dallas jumped up as the horse had clipped one of the guards, "What was that?"

Maddox smiled down at me as I walked up to them, "I was hoping this would come sooner."

I looked back at him, "This wasn't by my choice Maddox. I had Loki's people after me for the past few weeks. You stand there happy as nothing has happened to you during this time."

Maddox's smiled started to fade.

Dallas just looked at me, "I heard that they had killed you..."

"Let me guess that was from Loki?"

Dallas's eyes narrowed.

"He sent Kari on me. He actually got her to think that I killed you and Raquel."

Dallas stepped back from me, "She attacked you?"

"I was almost killed. Maverick almost killed me." I kept my eyes on her.

Dallas shook her head, "They went after you?"

Maddox glanced back at me, "McKenzie, do you know where they are?"

"I'm looking for Bridget. She is a girl that has been with me and Kingston. She was someone I saved while I was heading to Dublin. I gotta find her."

Maddox looked at me, "You have been with Kingston?"

"Loki pushed that he was after Kane for some reason. Loki promised Kingston land and so much more. Kingston wasn't behind the attacks. It was Loki." I shouted back at him as I kept moving.

Dallas turned around as Maverick and Kari walked through the trees.

Kari just looked at Dallas as she ran over wrapping her arms around Kari's neck.

Kari's bottom lip was trembling as Dallas cried into her shoulder. "You are alive."

Dallas backed away from her, "You believed that McKenzie killed me? What is wrong with you?"

Kari shook her head, "He brought your clothing back that was covered in blood."

Dallas narrowed her eyes at her, "That was from a battle...I remember the guards taking my clothes after that."

Kari touched Dallas's cheek, "I am so sorry."

Maverick glanced back at Maddox, "Where is McKenzie?"
