21. And You Know How You Made Me Believe

                Maddox pushed up from the ground as the sun was bright through his window.

It was not like another morning like any other.

It was a morning knowing that your family had been torn apart.

That everything you had been working so hard for was never going to happen.

Maddox glanced over his shoulder as someone walked past his door.

He went over to the door when he saw Kari walking up the steps, "What are you doing here?"

Kari glanced back as Raquel walked up to the top step, "You probably wanna come with us."

Maddox stepped out of the room and looked at her, "No, I'm not going anywhere until you talk to me."

Kari glared back at Raquel, "Talk to your boy."

Maddox glared at her as Kari went down the steps.

Raquel looked up at him, "We are going out today. We are heading out to find McKenzie before Kingston has the chance to get back here and destroy us."

"This isn't smart." Maddox looked at her.

"We know." Raquel looked back at him.

"Then why are you doing this?"

"I can't have Isabel as the next Ragason queen. I won't allow that bitch to control me anymore."

Maddox smiled back at her, "Just leave, I will make sure that you are ok."

"You are gonna cover us?"

Maddox nodded his head back at her, "Yea, I'm gonna cover for you."

Raquel nodded her head as she went back down the steps.

Maddox rubbed the back of his head as he went back to his room.

Later after getting dressed, Maddox walked down to see Isabel in the front room.

He looked back at her then over at the door, "Where did Solomon go?"

"I don't know I don't know much anymore."

Maddox nodded his head back at her, "Ok Isabel."

Isabel glared back at him, "Why do you push me off like everyone else?"

Maddox glanced back at her, "I guess I shouldn't lie to you like everyone else is..."

"What do you mean?"

"We don't like you Isabel. You are annoying and you pushed McKenzie out of here. Don't think that you are something special when really I'm pretty sure most of the girls would rather kill you."

Isabel just looked at him.

"So really don't push anything anymore when you pushed the only person out of this camp that was making us look up at what is coming at us."

Isabel sat down at the table as Maddox went of the house.

Maddox glanced around and saw Maverick and Caleb toward the side of the trees.

He started toward them when he saw Carrigan and Axel walking up from the barn.

"What's going on?" Maddox asked them.
