The Meg (Jonas x reader)

Chapter 16

"Jonas." You say, worried about your friends.

"Go. Take care of them." He tells you.

"Jonas!" You shout as you see the Meg following him.

"I'm okay." He reassures you. "I'm leading it away from the ship."

...

"Stop splashing!" Meying shouts at Dj. "You have a life jacket on!"

"A life jacket?" He asks, out of breath. "Oh, yeah. I've got a life jacket on."

"Hush." Meying tries to hush him. "The monsters here."

"The monsters here? No, don't worry about the monster. I've got you. Everything is fine." He rambles.

"Stop talking." She tells him.

A splash is heard from beside them and they scream, but it's you coming to the surface with the glider.

"Meying, Dj!" You shout through the glass.

"Yn!" Meying shouts and starts swimming toward you.

"That's good! Wait, wait! Wait for me. Wait for Dj, wait for Dj." Dj says following after the girl.

She climbs up on your glider. "Yn, are you okay?" Meying asks you, holding her hand up to the glass and you hold yours up against hers from inside.

"I'm okay. How about you, sweetie?"

"I'm okay, too."

"Good, let's find your mom." You look over to find Dj giving you a thumbs up, you return one before taking the glider around the evac ship to look for the others. You find them on the other side.

"Come on. Get out of the water, climb up." You tell them and they help each other.

You look out toward where Jonas lead the Meg, worried. Then the shark is back and moving toward you.

"Jonas!" Mac shout through the coms.

"It's coming." You state as it gets closer.

"We're sitting ducks up here, Jonas." Mac tells him.

"Mummy!" Meying says scared, hugging her mother tightly.

"Can you hear me, Jonas?" Mac asks.

Jonas is sitting in his glider watching thinking about what to do next.

"Yn, we're gonna have to go." Mac tells you.

"Jonas, we got nothing left." You tell him.

"Almost nothing."

"How are you gonna kill it?" Mac asks.

"Evolution. I'm gonna make this thing bleed." He answers. "Yn, what you said before, you were right. It's not about the people you lose. It's about the people you save."

"Jonas?" You asks scared what he's going to do.

"I love you Yn, I'm sorry I pushed you away and I'm sorry it took me so long to tell you.. But I'm not sorry about this. I need you alive. Signing off." He takes his earpiece off immediately, so you can't start to argue.

"Jonas! Wait! No!" You exclaim, everyone looks at you, you ignore them as you continue exclaiming into the coms. "Jonas, stop. Wait! No, no, no." You look toward the Meg noticing it's attention is elsewhere, toward Jonas.

You don't see or hear anything, since he took of the earpiece, as lead the Meg away from you.

"I need to go after him, let's find somewhere safe for you." You tell the others. You drive away from the evac ship, trying to think of something.

"There! A boat." Meying shouts pointing toward it.

You drive there as fast as you can with people sitting on the glider, which is not fast. Reaching the boat, everyone jumps off fast knowing how desperate you are to get back to help Jonas.

"Go Yn." Mac tells you as he helps the last one off the glider and swims toward the boat. You nod and turn the glider around.

You look around as you drive away, for any indication of where Jonas and the Meg might be. Then you see the shark jumping out of the water, you watch in shock, then seeing a small figure by its eye, Jonas. You can't see what he's doing from this distance but you watch as they fall back into the water with a huge splash and you dive the glider over there as fast as you can.

When you get closer you see hundreds of sharks swimming toward the Meg that is sinking, dead, the sharks starts to tear it up and eat it. You spot Jonas, and as you get closer to him you see a hammer head shark swimming toward him, you bump into it with your glider, pushing it away. Jonas swims toward you and takes a hold on the glider letting you tow him up to the surface.

You get to the surface, and move back toward the boat you left the others. They notice you from a distance and start waving, when Jonas sees them he waves back. The others notice him and start cheering and hugging in relief.

Jonas helps you out of the glider and the moment he has you safely on the boat, you embrace him in a hug.

"You're crazy." You mumble into him, he chuckles and you pull away, but he barely lets you, holding you close to him. "I love you too, so much, and I have for so long. Even when you pushed me away, I never held it against you. I just feel bad I wasn't able to help you out of that hole you buried yourself in."

"You did, the moment I saw you again. And you would've been able to earlier, I just never let you. That's my fault."

You smile lovingly at him, and he closes the distance between you, kissing you again.

...

You sit down and Jonas grabs two cups of coffee before he sits beside you.

"Thank you." You tell him as he hands you one. Then Meying comes your way.

"Beep-beep. Coming through Crazy." She says and you chuckle.

Jonas lets her past, and she sits down between the two of you. Suyin looks at you from her seat, smiling. Loving how much you care for Meying and how much Meying adores you. She has also noticed Meying taking a liking to Jonas. She smiles at the scene in front of her, Meying sitting between her two favourite people.

"Well, here's to being alive." Mac cheers.

Meying leans her head on your shoulder, you kiss her head and wrap your arm around her.

"And to our friends." Dj adds.

You notice Jonas looks down at that, and you take your hand to meet his behind Meying. He takes it, gives it a squeeze and look at you with a grateful smile. He then turns to Meying between you, as she looks up at Jonas.

"I don't know about you, but I could use a vacation." He tells her.

"You should ask Captain Bubbles." Meying says and Jonas wiggles his eyebrows like she had done to him earlier. She giggles and gives him a thumbs up.

Let's just say you two spend the vacation making up for a lot of wasted time.
