The Meg (Jonas x reader)

Chapter 9

"So, what's the deal with the hot pilot and the grumpy saviour?" Morris asks, while he waits for the last ones to show up for the meeting. "They dated or something?"

Everyone turns their attention toward Mac who knows the both you.

"No. But they should've." Mac tells them, annoyed with the two of you, though hopeful now that you've been reunited.

"Why haven't they tried to be more than friends?" Suyin asks and Mac shrugs.

"Too many insecurities. Life came in the way. Heller.." Mac glares at the doctor.

"Heller?"

"How have I've been in the way?" Heller asks confused.

"You drove him away from us, when they were this close to admitting their feelings." He says holding his finger and thumb up with barely any space between them. Heller looks down guiltily. "Jonas is to blame too, though. He pushed her away when she tried to be there for him. But he couldn't handle her seeing him that way, drowning himself in self pity. He feels like she deserves better, and she does. But he should and can be better, he's already showing that by coming here."

Then the doors open, and you come into the room with Meying, talking about some funny colourful fishes she had seen earlier that day outside the glass walls.

"Hey, Mac?" You says as you come up to him.

"Yeah?"

"Could you go get Jonas in few, and show him the way here?" You ask him.

"Why me? Can't you?"

"He wasn't ready when I came by. And.. I might've told him that he can ask the AI for directions when he's ready." You grin mischievously.

"But we don't have..." He starts confused, then realising from your wicked smile that you're just playing with Jonas. "And he believed you because of the showers." He chuckles at you. "Poor guy, I'm gonna find him trying to talk to a wall or something aren't I?" He laughs. "I can't miss that." He walks out to get Jonas.

Jonas walks out of the dorm after he's changed and ready, he looks around awkwardly.

"Uh.. Guide me to the conference room?" He hesitantly says and just as he does Mac comes past the corner.

"Trying to ask God for directions, brother?" Mac tease.

"Oh, uh.. I was just.. Yn said to ask the computer or something for directions, like the shower was voice activated."

"Nah, only the bathroom is voice activated here, don't worry brother." He says laughing at your joke.

"Of course." Jonas mumbles, shaking his head at your joke.

He follows Mac to get to the conference room.

"She's still single." Mac states out of the blue.

"I didn't ask anything." Jonas tries to hide his relief.

"I know." Mac says with an innocent smile.

Then reaching the door to the conference room, he stops and Jonas stop beside him, confused.

"Open sesame." Mac tells the door and looks teasingly at Jonas.

Jonas rolls his eyes and open the door to the conference room.

"Ha! It worked." Mac says and follows after a then grumbling Jonas.

Mac and Jonas walk in and you look to the entrance, seeing Jonas search the room with his eyes, until he finds you. Then he points at you discreetly and punches his fist into his palm indicating he'll get his revenge for your little prank.
