Third Person P.O.V
Slapping her hand on the door, Mia shouted "Riley! Riley! Riley!" her voice broke as she needed to catch her breath. No one was opening the front door. Seconds were running, and every single one counted. "Anybody there?" Mia grew impatient, more than she already was. Deeply worrying for Riley's safety, she even attempted at opening the door herself. Unfortunately, it was locked.
Angie and Harry showed up behind her. Panting, catching their breaths. Harry leaned forward, resting his hands on his knees. Angie helped knock on the door. As Mis pounded on the door, Angie jiggled the door knob. No use.
"Open up!" Angie was more aggressive than Mia. "Riley!" she shouted louder as well.
Terrified that it could be too late, Mia questioned, "When did you see the post?"
Gloria had posted a status on facebook, Riley is such a loser xp She literally grabbed her dad's pills and ran into her room, what a dumbass!
Harry had accidentally accepted her friend request once, and had forgotten to delete her. Therefore, he was able to see the post. Right away, he knew what was happening. Immediately, he showed Angie. Still at the shopping center where the ice cream shop was located, they scanned it for Mia. Hoping she was still around. Deeply terrified, they pulled Mia aside from Ms. Damon and showed her the status. Mia shrugged it off, not thinking anything of it. Until Angie explained to her what kind of pills they were. Without hesitation, Mia ran over to Riley's house. Ms. Damon was left alone, with absolutely no explanation.
Harry straightened up, his voice was still weak. "Like half an hour ago," he breathed heavily. His hand pressed on his own chest, feeling as if he was out of air. "It had been up for over an hour when I saw it."
More panic set in. For all they knew, Riley could have taken the pills sooner than that. Just because that's when Gloria made the post, didn't mean there was no time in between. She had once read an article that stated an average of one to three hours pass by for the body to shut down and die from an overdose.
Knowing that too much time had passed, Mia started kicking the door, "Riley!" her voice broke as tears escaped her eyes. "Please, Riley!" uncontrollably, she repeatedly slammed on the door with her hand. As much as her hand stung, she did not give up.
The door then flew open, "What the hell," Gloria huffed with attitude. Completely not worried at all that Riley was in the bedroom, after swallowing her father's heavy medication. Not bothering to ask for permission, Mia shoved Gloria aside and welcomed herself into the house. "Hey!" Gloria was shocked and upset.
"Move, bitch!" Angie shoved her even harder. Then, directed the way to Riley's room. Mia followed closely. Karen was heard yelling, demanding for them to leave her house. Harry stayed behind, arguing with her.
Meanwhile, Angie opened Riley's bedroom door. Luckily, it was not locked. And there she laid, in her bed. With her blankets over her. Her eyes were closed. Bad sign. Angie let out a gasp, as Mia ran to her. Throwing off the blankets, she held Riley's head up, letting it rest on her lap.
"Riley!" she called out to her. No response. "Riley!" she cried, seeing the unconscious Riley. Her eyes scanned the floor, the pill bottle caught her eye immediately. More tears ran down her face.
Angie saw them too and that's when she broke into tears. "Check her pulse," she feared that it was too late.
Mia held Riley's wrist and placed her fingers on it. It seemed like forever, waiting for a pulse. There was nothing. Mia's lips pressed together as she waited and hoped. "I don't feel anything!" it was hitting her. The fact that Riley could be dead. She released her wrist. "Please, Riley, don't be dead," she begged. There was absolutely no sign of her still being alive.
