Third Person P.O.V
Water flowed over Mia's body, washing all the dirt and cleaning chemicals away. The water barely warmed her up. She had to hurry before the warm water would be all gone. Maximum, she only had about ten minutes before freezing cold water would come rushing out. Seeing how she had already been showering for nine minutes, she hurried up. Quickly scrubbing, she washed the soap off her body.
As soon as she felt the slightest bit of cold water, she stepped back, away from the water's reach. Dark dirty water with soap ran down the drain. Mia wiped her eyes dry. Her hands ran down her face to wipe water off as well. No one was in the showers, meaning that Mia did not have to necessarily hurry to reach for her towel.
Carefully, she leaned in on her tippy toes, reaching for the knob to turn off the water. Footsteps were then heard behind her. Immediately and in panic, Mia reached for her towel and wrapped it around herself. Her eyes grew when she saw Maura walking her way. She gulped down hard and her heartbeat quickened.
Wanting to avoid making eye contact with Maura, Mia looked past her, attempting to walk past her as well.
"Where do you think you're going?" Maura mocked her and gripped her arms, stopping her.
"Get out of my way," Mia demanded, making eye contact. To show her no fear. In case Maura tried pulling off her towel, Mia gripped it tightly, securing it around herself.
"Let me get a peak," with a smug plastered on her face, Maura reached for the towel.
Sighing and rolling her eyes, Mia kept the towel secured on herself with one hand and used her other hand to grab Maura's hand. To have full control, Mia pressed her thumb into the center of the bully's hand and painfully bent her hand backwards.
The last thing Mia wanted was to fight her in the showers. Before getting to that point, she was going to give her a warning.
"Ouch bitch!" Maura yelped. Bringing out the little girl in her. Mia had to stifle a laugh. All Maura was, was a big bully. "You can't take a joke?" She retreated, playing it off as. Accepting that she could now overpower Mia.
"I don't play with insecure bullies," remarking, Mia released her.
Massaging her hand, Maura walked away, grumbling, "You ain't fun."
Relieved to have been left alone without much of a fight, Mia continued her way to finish getting ready. She couldn't help but to smile when she wondered what would've been Riley's reaction to see her defend herself so well.

Working on their daily chores, Mia and Iris talked a bit. After squeezing water out of the mop, Mia ran the mop across the floor. Iris was cleaning windows. Here and there, she had to step aside to allow Mia to mop in her area.
"Has Riley come to visit you today?" Iris changed the conversation.
Sadly, Mia shook her head no. "I don't think she'll ever come back here," she was convinced. Convinced that Riley wanted nothing to do with her. Even though it broke her heart, she was trying hard to accept it. At least for now. However, it was difficult. Riley was always on her mind. Day and night.
"Just give her some time. You need to understand her. She can't remember anything. Imagine how she feels," Iris thought that would bring her mood up.
"I'm trying to understand her but I miss her," Mia frowned and stopped moping. Her chin rested on top of the stick. "You should have seen her yesterday, she was so different," her eyes narrowed down. All over again, she felt like crying. She felt a lump stuck in her throat. The physical pain in her chest was unbearable.
