Elijah arrived in Hogsmeade with Regulus an hour or so later. Regulus was still unsteady, but had managed to get them there in one piece, neither muttered a word to the other on the way back to the castle. Even as they walked through the quiet corridors of the castle towards Dumbledore's office.
"Elijah.." Regulus murmured as they got to the entrance to the office.
"You have to trust me." Is all Elijah said as he stepped into the office, in there was Sirius, Remus, his parents, Harry, Snape, McGonagall, and of course, Dumbledore.
"You have some nerve showing up here." James practically bellowed, stalking towards his son, and shoving him against the nearest wall.
Elijah hit the wall with a loud thud, the blow taking the wind from him. He held his hand up to stop Regulus from interfering.
"No one I raised should have that mark," James growled, his hand firmly on Elijah's throat.
"Good job you didn't raise me then, huh?" Elijah breathed, "Now you don't have to lose sleep over it, you're free of that burden."
"Elijah, you know that's a lie." Lily muttered from behind James, stood beside Harry. "Don't start this again.."
"Don't start this again?" Elijah laughed humourlessly. "I've not started any of this. This is all on you, everything from terrible parenting to psychotic interviews in hopes of redeeming face. I'm just hoping it will fucking die."
James stared blankly at the boy but tightened his grip. Elijah swore for a split second he saw a softer look flicker through his father's eyes, but he told himself he was imagining it.
"You want to kill me, do it, you'll be doing me a favor..." He said flatly.
"James, put the boy down," Dumbledore ordered, now stood behind his desk.
The eldest Potter turned to the headmaster, jaw clenching before releasing his son, and returning to Lily and Harry protectively.
"You did this to him?" Sirius spat at Regulus, staring at his brother looking utterly heartbroken. It made Elijah's heartache, they'd just got to a good point in their relationship, and now Sirius was questioning it all over again.
"No one did this to me! I made a deal, this was the result." Elijah defended, stepping in front of Regulus and glaring at Sirius.
"Elijah.. You have no idea what you've done." Sirius whispered.
"Don't I? Why don't you explain it to me? Tell me, how I'm in that damned prophecy, and how I'm meant to help you win this war!"
"Whatever he told you, you cannot trust him," Remus said, stepping in. "You of all people should know that.." he said, going to put a hand on the boy's shoulder.
"Don't fucking touch me!" He growled, slapping away his hand, "And don't tell me what I should and shouldn't know! Or who I should and shouldn't trust. I trusted you! I trusted you. And you didn't tell me..." he yelled, sounding completely defeated, he looked away turning his efforts to Dumbledore.
Remus recoiled as if he had just touched something hot and got burned. He turned to Dumbledore, and then Sirius as if trying to get permission to say what was on the tip of his tongue.
