Fine. You know what? Fine. Yumi will admit it.

She missed Jeongguk.

She hadn't even realised when the sadness of it all took her over. Maybe it was the day after her talk with Hara. Or maybe the second. Or perhaps the sadness was just always there since the morning they had that fight. She wasn't sure what it was that she had broken between them, but the empty feeling of that gap didn't help with her other worries.

A huff left her mouth as her eyes swam over the ocean, its beautiful shimmer slightly misgiving to how it could be. The floor of the deck swayed as the waves hit, and Yumi had a light hold on the starboard because of the turbulence. With wary eyes, she glanced up at the sky.

"Yumi?" A voice drifted into her ears, breaking through the thick haze of her thoughts.

"Yeah?" She tapped a pattern on the railing, waiting for Namjoon to continue.

He looked a little lost in his thoughts himself. In a vain attempt to start a conversation, Yumi chuckled dryly, "I heard you scream."

"What?" He raised his eyebrows in surprise, "Oh-- that was nothing," he waved his hand dismissively as he came to stand beside her.

"Oh?" Yumi tried to smile, "That was a cool jump you made from the cabin there,"

"Oh, stop that." He tapped on the railing, eyes drifting in the direction of the infirmary.

Yumi followed his gaze, "What?"

Namjoon scratched his head, "On a scale of one to ten, how murderous would Taehyung be when he saw me?"

"You're human, so probably a hundred." Yumi frowned, "Why?"

"Just..." he trailed off, eyes clouding over as if lost in thoughts.

Eventually, he told her what  Jeongguk had offered him, in a voice that told her even he was having trouble believing it. Yumi was quiet throughout his speech. Her grip on the railing loosened and she felt defeated.

"Mhm..." She hummed in an attempt to hide her thoughts, "That's good I guess. I mean, you should be careful with him...but still, he actually asked you to..."

"I didn't think he'd ask me." Namjoon admitted, "For something like this... I thought..." He looked meaningfully at her. She did not need to ask what he was thinking.

She held her breath and waited for him to ask about her relationship with Jeongguk. He surprised her by turning away from her to gaze at the ocean. "Well... I guess the guy must've been stressed if he asked me,"

Yumi only hummed, slightly smiling gratefully at his thoughtful change of subject.  Another person asks her about her relationship with that hybrid and she will climb onto the starboard and plunge into the sea.

"I suppose I understand a bit." He winced slightly, "It feels weird if I say it out loud,"

Yumi snorted bitterly, not being able to help herself. "I'd be concerned if he wasn't stressed,"

Namjoon gave her a look before nodding, "I mean, his friend is sick and will probably die soon. We are lost and will probably also die soon..."

"Probably?" Yumi asked scathingly, "More like definitely,"

"Hey, think positively."

"There's nothing positive about this situation,"

"Maybe not. But team spirit is also a thing, right? We've already wasted four days doing nothing, we can't stay like this,"

"...we are struggling with stuff like eating and washing up, and you're thinking we're wasting time?"

"I suppose wasting isn't the right word..." Namjoon murmured, "But, like, how many felines do you think died already? What about the people still on earth?"
