If the shock from yesterday did not kill Jeongguk, the smell from Namjoon's desk nearly did.

"So, uh, I've been working on the antidote ever since I found it was the mercury in your friend's system." He said, gesturing unnecessarily to the glass containing a gross-looking, green coloured liquid.

"Just have to work on it more so it loses the potential to kill," Jimin added.

"Oh, why don't you shut up, Jimin," Namjoon said irritably. "Anyway, now that I know what we're fighting against, the mercury can be neutralised."

"We've stopped feeding him sardine." Jimin popped up, "That would have been enough to heal him had he still been in the starting stages."

"But since the poison's too far in his brain, the infection it causes spreads." Namjoon continued, "That's why there's almost no hope for the patient when they near the ending stage, even when they no longer intake the poisoned food."

"... W-what do you mean by--"

"But since we know what we're fighting against, we can clear the infection the mercury's caused." Jeongguk must've been looking pathetic because Jimin put on a cajoling tone.

Namjoon sat by the desk and carefully took the ten-something flasks and glasses in his hands. Jeongguk watched as the liquid swirled in the container.

"I'm going to be blunt with you, Jeongguk-- I can call you that, can't I? I've never made an antidote for this purpose before."

"Namjoon--" Jimin hissed.

"I need him to know what he's getting into, Jimin." Namjoon heaved a heavy sigh, "I'm not saying this to discourage you, or make you have second thoughts about us. Your friend is the one who's going to get it first, and... I hate to say it, but I can't guarantee complete success,"

Jeongguk inhaled sharply.

"In theory, this should definitely work." Jimin said quickly, "That's why I've been fishing for a while now, and trying to get all sorts of stuff to stop the effect of the mercury. See that IV attached to your friend? That's where all the medicine's gonna go, seeing as now he is in a coma state. With how easily the blood flows from this artery to the brain--"

"Jimin." Hara chastised, Jeongguk had almost forgotten she was still there,  "You're confusing him,"

The three started discussing amongst themselves, and Jeongguk turned back to the lying figure on the bed. Yumi was still there, carefully prying the hybrid's eyes open to look into them. His skin had an odd pallor to him, and the blood vessels in his eyes looked raw, lifeless as they were.

Mercury. She knew.

Her hand dropped to her side and she let out a breath. The heart monitor beeped slightly, indicating his weak heartbeat.

"Namjoon." Yumi watched the monitor, "When will the antidote be ready?"

Namjoon followed her eyes to the monitor before falling to Taehyung's body, "We are still looking for fish hybrids willing to help, we might need some of their blood... well, some that counter the poison anyway... So, I was thinking at least two days."

"Two days." Yumi echoed, "Will... will he be..." She jerked her head towards Taehyung. She didn't voice out the sentence, but they all heard it in their heads anyway.

'Will he be alive until then?'

Namjoon looked down. "... I should hope so,"

Jeongguk didn't look encouraged by his tone.

"Fishing." He muttered. Then, he rounded on the Aqua, Mare, "Come outside with me."

Mare sniffed rudely, "You are not the boss of me,"
