Needless to say, Yumi was in a bad mood.

After she had turned on her heel and tromped down to the bed chambers, she stubbed her toe on the door.

She hopped on foot while muttering, "Ow, ow, ow," with one hand on the doorknob. The pain only added to the anger in her system.

The door opened with a loud snap and a swear from Yumi, startling the other occupants in there.

"What's up?!" Jimin jolted upward, leg now cushioned by a pillow.

"Anything wrong?" Namjoon asked in worry, "You look mad enough to flip this ship,"

Oh, Yumi would love to flip this ship. With Jeongguk in it no less. Then she remembered he would kind of die if she did that and grit her teeth.

"Yumi, you tired? Everything okay?"

No. "I'm fine. Just want to sleep," she mumbled.

Her limbs grew heavy as the words came out. Suddenly, all she wanted to do was hide under the covers and pass out.  After all the yelling she did, her throat felt sore and her legs felt like jelly. She wanted to sleep. And hopefully not dream. She was serious when she said that Taehyung's mad face would haunt her nightmares.

Speaking of the sleeping hybrid... "Yeah, I dunno if we can do that,"

Yumi had just sunk into the mattress, ready to stop using her brain. Needless to say, she was not pleased when Hara's wry voice reached her ears. "Why not?"

It came out harsher than she intended, and Jimin raised an eyebrow, "Remember the infected lion in the court? That poor dog he decapitated? We could be next,"

Namjoon shook his head at her blank look, "Hey, what's in your mind?"

Jeongguk. "Nothing," she said quickly, forcing her tired brain to work.

Right. As clear as day, she recounted the events that took place right when they were supposed to be executed. Just as the clan leaders ordered for the humans to be grabbed, the missing lion hybrid head made an impressionable entrance, covered in blood,  teeth stained red and eyes crazed. He passed out not long after, but the damage had been done, he brought panic to the hall and the humans' trial had been postponed.

A very small part of Yumi felt grateful for his entrance, but she quickly squashed down that feeling. She was horrified, how could she think like that? How could she be grateful that he was sick and dying?

You humans just lack empathy.

Her other teammates were awaiting her response, their eyes curious. She cleared her throat, "Yes, yes...so we can't sleep here?"

Jimin bit his already cut lip, "...you never know what he might do now, right? I mean...he didn't like us before either. Now he's ill. He probably might not even know what he's doing now,"

"Mhm." Hara nodded, "But what if he wakes and is, well, in need of attention?"

"What if we just took a single bed, both bunks, farther away? I mean, he's still injured. I doubt he'd manage to walk all the way to us. And we'd be at close range too, so we could help each other," Namjoon suggested.

There were murmurs of agreement. Yumi just wanted to hit the mattress by now. They quickly decided to let Namjoon and Jimin take the bottom bunk, with the other two at the top. Yumi trudged up to her bed to grab her--tattered, dusty, slimy--blanket. There was a sound of something dropping and she stumbled back.

It was a brown box. The pocket-sized brown box that held...she snatched it back and snapped it open. The red flower stared back at her, a couple of its petals shrivelled up. The thirteen days of being picked finally seemed to be catching up to it.
