Yumi got back on her feet faster than Jeongguk expected.
By dusk, she was already kneeling by the crushed remains of the control room, trying to sort out the debris of machine parts so she'd know where to start.
Jeongguk hopped into the cabin to find her handling a screwdriver as she tinkered with the destroyed machinery. "Only hours ago you couldn't hold a mango right."
Yumi raised her eyebrows, "I read that mangos don't usually come with a gripper," she waved around her screwdriver.
He rolled his eyes, "Where are you even planning to start?" he crouched, picking up a couple of shards of what looked like a compass before dropping them.
"Wherever I see fit," Yumi said, eyes glinting as took the compass chunks.
"I don't see anything fitting,"
"It's like a jigsaw puzzle, I don't start with a clear picture in mind. I just find the ones that look somewhat alike and..." she merged the compass base with a needle she found dropped, "...join them,"
"That won't work with everything," Jeongguk stated bluntly.
Yumi fought the urge to give him a dirty look, "I don't have a better plan,"
"I'll look after this." Jeongguk was already fishing through the debris, "You go help with the collected water at the basement,"
This time, Yumi did give him a dirty look, "You still don't trust me with the machinery?" It wasn't really a question.
"Maybe. But I can't really touch water, you know? While you can," he said as if talking to a small kid.
Yumi was soon hauling bucket after bucket of water, carefully plopping its filling into the now very innocent-looking sea, in an attempt to not get any on her skin.
"How're you feeling now?" Namjoon asked worriedly, heaving two buckets at once and nearly slopping the contents over her, "You looked quite bad before,"
"'Looked bad'?!" Yumi scoffed indignantly, "I like how I look, thank you very much,"
"Not what I meant." Namjoon held out the bucket over the deck, nearly dropping it into the sea as he limped over.
"How's your leg?" Yumi asked in worry. He had twisted his ankle pretty badly when he took that fall.
"For all his talking, that hybrid is plenty good at bandaging stuff up." Namjoon nodded up to the control cabin, pulling his trousers up to reveal a neatly casted foot. "I can use it without it hurting, anyway,"
He glanced at her, laughing, before saying, "Why are you making that face anyway?"
It was only then that Yumi realised her scowl after Jeongguk was mentioned, "Oh, you know, I just hate getting all the actual fun ripped off me,"
"I didn't realise you loved to hang out with him that much," he looked quite impressed.
"Oh, not him." Yumi said dismissively, waving her hand as they strode back to the basement to collect more water, "It's the ship. It needs fixing, and bunny boy there can't accept the fact that he could do with my help there,"
Namjoon glanced over to the control cabin nervously, "I'm not sure you should call him that,"
"He's not even here," Yumi rolled her eyes, very displeased over the fact that she was collecting water by buckets when she could've been up doing something useful.
"He's got rad ears,"
"Whatever. It's just stupid how, even after all this time, he still doesn't trust us,"
