Chan P.O.V
*Mentions of death*
Our manager was now in front of us with a frown on his face. He'd been here for 10 minutes and hadn't said a single word. Seungmin was visibly anxious and I couldn't watch it anymore. I linked our fingers and looked at our manager.
"Hyung, tell us why you're here. Being silent is making Seungmin anxious." He sighed and Seungmin turned away.
"Seungmin, why is this guy trying to kill you?" Seungmin shook his head.
"I witnessed something I wasn't supposed to. I was assaulted when I was a kid. That person killed my dad to keep him from saving me." I glimpsed at Seungmin.
"He tried to kill Seungmin but his dad got in the way and killed him instead."
"If you were on the run, why the hell did you choose a profession where you'd be in the spotlight?" Seungmin tensed and turned back to our manager.
"Because you guys are supposed to keep me safe. That's literally your job and I wasn't in danger till you stuck your nose into it. Then, you fucking put Chan in danger too. You have no right to scold or judge me. You have no idea what the fuck I've been through. If you're not here to help us, then get the fuck out. I've dealt with this bullshit for 10 years. Trust me, I don't want to be alive either. If I could have rewound the clock I would have. I'd much rather have a bullet in my head. But you know what? My dad died instead and I am the one that has to live with that pain. I'm the one that has to be disgusted with myself. I'm the one who can't make love with my partner without remembering the worst experience of my life. So, fuck you honestly. Fuck you." Seungmin began to cry out of frustration. Our manager only sighed. I pressed my hand to Seungmin's back and leaned in to whisper in his ear.
"Go clean your face baby. I'll handle him." Seungmin nodded. He walked to the bathroom and shut the door.
"If you just came to make him feel like a shitty person, then you succeeded at your job." He looked away for a moment.
"I'm sorry. I had no intention of making him cry like that but I can't do anything if I don't know the situation."
"You haven't helped at all. You only made it worse. Lee Jaejun is trying to kill him. You have his name. We both saw his face. Yet, you have done nothing. Instead, you're here, scolding Seungmin for something that he had no control over. You would think after all this time that you cared about us a little more than this. I get your job is to watch over us and keep us safe but what you just did was not okay." He stood up and looked me in the eye.
"What do you want me to do then?"
"I want you to find this bastard and bring him to me." He raised a brow.
"Why bring him to you?" I smiled, causing him to shiver.
"Don't ask questions you don't want to know the answer to." He swallowed and nodded.
"Where will you be?" I glimpsed at the door and sighed.
"I called my parents and told them that we would be visiting for a bit. When you find him, let me know." He nodded.
"Understood." Seungmin came out then. He cleared his throat and walked over to him. He wrapped his arms around Seungmin gently.
"I'm sorry, Seungmin. I promise you that he will feel every ounce of the pain that he's given you and more." Seungmin nodded and leaned into him.
"Thank you, Hyung." He nodded. He held Seungmin for a minute longer and then left. Seungmin walked over to me and laid his head on my lap.
"I called my parents. We have a flight in the morning." He raised a brow.
"What if I put your family in danger?" I chuckled despite the situation.
"We're not staying with them. I just needed to talk to them about getting the keys to our vacation home."
"Okay."
"Let's get some food and rest." He nodded.
"Yeah."
