Chan P.O.V
I shook as I pulled Seungmin into my arms. He'd already gone unconscious. I glared at my father. He only chuckled.
"Well, that didn't go as planned," I growled.
"Get the hell out before I do something I'll regret." He raised a brow as I pressed my hand to Seungmin's stomach. He was bleeding a lot and it scared me.
"What could you possibly do?" Elias kicked the gun he'd had hidden to me. I picked it up.
"This." I shot my father directly in the head. I dropped the gun from my shaky hand and directed my attention back to Seungmin. Elias bent down beside me.
"Let's get him to a hospital. I'll be a lot faster than an ambulance." I shook my head.
"We can't take him to a hospital. They'll go snooping. We have a body in here and an almost one in the basement." He huffed.
"Where do we go then?" I looked up at him and frowned.
"No. No. No. There's no way."
"We have to. We don't have any other choices." He looked away for a moment before nodding.
"Let's go then. I'll call him on the way." Elias helped me get Seungmin into the back seat before getting in himself.
"I'm sorry about the blood." It came out in a whisper but he heard me. He chuckled.
"Don't worry about it. There's been plenty of bodies back there. I know how to get it out. Just focus on keeping him alive." I nodded but he didn't see it. The rest of the drive was quiet besides the short call he made. We were at our destination in 20 minutes. The sun was coming up as we got there. The man sighed when he saw us.
"Get inside." We nodded. I carried Seungmin inside and laid him on a clean table. "Elias, what the hell have you gotten yourself into?" Elias huffed.
"Haven't I always told you to not ask questions that can get you in trouble?" The man sighed.
"Fair. What happened?" I couldn't speak so Elias did all of the talking for me.
"GSW to the stomach at close range." The guy nodded.
"Okay. I'll get the bullet out and make sure there's no internal bleeding. As far as I can see, the bullet isn't anywhere fatal but I won't know for sure until I get inside of him. Go stand outside. Neither one of you should watch this." I started to argue but Elias shook his head and motioned me to follow him. He closed the door when we got outside.
"Don't worry, Chris. My uncle is the best in the business." I nodded and sat down. He mirrored my movements and rested his hand on my knee.
"I can't live without him." Elias smiled.
"I know. He'll be okay. Don't worry." I looked at him. My eyes were dry from no sleep but I was still able to cry for some reason. Elias was an asshole that didn't care about anyone but he had a soft spot for me. He'd never admit it out loud but he was almost human when it came to me. He wasn't my brother biologically but I would always call him one till the day I died.
" Did Seungmin tell you about our past?" He nodded.
"A little bit but he didn't go into full detail." I sighed.
"You know how I grew up. You were there. It was a shitty situation and I didn't know how to bring myself out. Until I met Seungmin, there was never a reason to. I hurt him physically and mentally a lot. I did a lot of shit to him."
"Did you hit him?" I thought back to my past and nodded.
"I did. I spent so much time hurting people that I didn't know how to love anyone."
"I know. How did you stop?" I shrugged.
"The idea of losing Seungmin scared the hell out of me. It was like I'd rather die than lose him. I forced myself to change for him. I knew that if I didn't, I'd lose him. That was far more terrifying than being tortured. Seungmin is the reason I breathe. He gave me a reason to live." Elias frowned. "Why do you ask?"
"I love you, Chris." I raised a brow.
"What's up with the sudden confession?" He chuckled.
"Not like that. It's just that, I wish you wouldn't have lived through that." I sighed.
"You lived through it too."
"I know that but I chose it. You didn't. It's different." I shook my head.
"You didn't choose it."
"Yes, I did. I was given the option and I said yes."
"Maybe, but you were a kid. Elias, you did nothing wrong. Don't feel guilty." I rested my head against his shoulder. "Our childhood wasn't great but it's over now. It's time to live our lives. It's time to find your own person." He chuckled.
"That won't happen." I shook my head.
"I found my forever. You will find yours."
"I'm a shitty person." I smiled.
"You will find a person who will make you want to change. That, I'm sure of." He sighed.
"I hope you're right." I raised a brow.
"What are you talking about? I'm always right." He laughed. His uncle opened the door then. I stood up then.
"The bullet wasn't fatal and there was no internal bleeding. I pulled the bullet out and sowed him up. He's gonna be fine. I did put him under though. The anesthetic is going to last for a while. His body needs to heal." I nodded. Relief buzzed through my body.
"Will there be a scar?" He frowned.
"Unfortunately, yes. There's nothing I can do about that." Elias sighed.
"After all the shit he's been through, I can't believe he doesn't already have some." I raised a brow.
"He told you about Jaejun?" He nodded.
"Yes. Speaking of Jaejun." I nodded.
"Go ahead. Don't-" He smiled before cutting me off.
"I know. I know. I'll see you later." I nodded. He took off after that. Elias's uncle gave me a look but I didn't say anything.
"Can I go sit with him now?" He nodded. "How long will the anesthetic last?" He shrugged.
"12 maybe 16 hours." I nodded. He pat my shoulder as I walked into the room. Seungmin looked so peaceful. I couldn't help but smile. I sighed, knowing everything was going to be okay.
