Beyond the Camera

Chapter 14

Seungmin P.O.V

I groaned as I opened my eyes. The screaming was loud. It became apparent that I wasn't going to get any sleep for the time being. I slid downstairs and walked into the Kitchen. Elias was leaning against the bar with a beer in his hand. He glimpsed up from his phone and smiled at me.

"Hey, kid." I nodded and walked over to the fridge. "Can you not sleep? I can go put a gag in his mouth if you need." I smiled and shook my head.

"No worries. I actually like it. Hearing him scream, I mean."  Elias raised a brow.

"You really are perfect for Chris." I chuckled and grabbed a water bottle.

"I'll take that as a compliment." he jumped onto the bar and sat down his phone.

"He's changed a lot since moving to Korea. There's a different air about him. I can only assume you have something to do with that." I looked down and smiled. He chuckled. "Let me ask you something." I looked back up and nodded.

"Sure."

"You and Chris, there's a dark past there isn't there?" I frowned and looked away. "I see. Has he ever hurt you?" I sighed.

"He has... but not on purpose. Things were tense between us in the beginning. He was a different person back then." Elias nodded.

"Chris is a good person, you know. He just grew up in a bad situation. He grew up around people where he wasn't allowed to feel any kind of emotion. He got punished if he did. His dad has gotten better over the years but when Chris was young, his dad broke him. That was the only way to make Chris do the things he did."

"I know. Well, I don't. He hasn't told me much but I did know that his dad had something to do with it."

"Chris has a beautiful heart. He was just never allowed to show it or let others see it. Despite me being an asshole, I really care about him. I always hoped he'd find someone to bring him back. Thank you for that, Seungmin." I nodded.

"When I first met Chan, he was cold. He didn't believe that anyone could love him but I did. I fell in love with him. I let him hurt me in ways no person should because I thought he needed it. It was something I was used to it anyway because of Jaejun. After a while of back and forth, he seemed to realize what he was doing to me. At that time he refused to touch me or even look at me. That was around the time I confronted him and told him that even if he loved me, things would never change if he didn't change. I gave him a choice and he chose to change for me. That was hell for both of us. He started sleeping with one of our members at that time. I didn't know that he was but I did know that that member was helping him with his problems." Elias hummed.

"He changed for you." I nodded.

"He did. Maybe it wasn't the right way but he did. He became everything I needed him to be."

"Has he hurt you since then?" I hesitated before nodding. "Why?"

"Um, the stress of everything going on right now. He apologized and cried."

"Forgive him."

"I have. That was the only other time he's done it since he changed."

"You love him." I nodded.

"More than anything."

"Would you quit being an idol for him?"

"Without a second thought."

"He'd burn down the world for you." I chuckled.

"He would. Chan would do anything and everything for me. That's why he's downstairs torturing Jaejun. I know he didn't want to. I know he didn't want to become that person again but he did for me."

"Can I ask you something else" I nodded. "Have you met his dad?" I shook my head.

"Chan doesn't want me to. I didn't understand why until yesterday though. I don't want to meet him. I don't want to meet the person who turned Chan into that monster."

"That's a good choice."

"Can I ask you something?" Elias smiled.

"I'm an open book."

"How are you connected to the Bhangs?" Elias frowned.

"Um, they took me in when I was a kid. My parents were murdered and I had nowhere to go. Chris's parents took me in and took care of me. His dad is a really shitty person but I owe them everything. They kept me and my sister out of the system and they have hidden all of the bad things we do from her." I nodded.

"I see. I suppose that's good."

"Listen, Seungmin. When he comes back, he will be emotionless. Just hold him for a while and bring him back to you." I nodded.

"Okay."
