23. Back to Life

Natalia had stayed there for hours on end, talking to Regulus. He felt familiar. Like he was her friend. "Who was your first kiss?" Regulus asked her and Natalia stopped to think, but couldn't remember.

"I–uh, I lost a lot of my memories when saving your brother, I can't really remember," she said awkwardly. She has had a few kisses since then, but not many. Regulus stared into her eyes and leaned forwards. It was wrong, Natalia thought. He was technically dead, but nonetheless, she leaned in as well and kissed a ghost. It didn't feel like a ghost though, she didn't fall through him. She kissed him and he felt alive.

She could feel heat radiating off of him. She opened her eyes and rather than the ghostly figure that she had previously seen, there he was, alive and well looking.

He gasped and they flew apart. He quickly stood up and ran his hands over his body as Natalia stood up as well. "It's impossible," Natalia whispered, poking his face.

His face turned from shock to gratitude and he hugged Natalia tightly. "I'm alive again! I'm alive," he cried.

Natalia smiled as well, "just wait until we go back! Voldemort hated losing you, imagine–" All of a sudden everything went black and she hit the floor. There was Regulus with her own wand pointed at her. Regulus didn't have his on him, but he would never go back– not to him.

He needed to find his brother. He grabbed Natalia and set her into the boat as they went across. When he was able to, he apparated to the first place he thought of, Grimmauld Place. He would leave her there while he went to find his brother. She could find her way home from there.

He landed in the living room and looked around. Everything was covered in sheets and cobwebs. It looked like it had been abandoned by his family and Kreacher wasn't there either.

He sighed and placed her down onto the couch and he sat down in the armchair next to her. He put his face in his hands and started crying. He was alive. He was alive, but his house was abandoned. That meant his family was dead and it had been years. He didn't even know what year it was. He quickly wiped his tears and got up.

Regulus wanted to get this done quickly. He pointed her wand at her and spoke a spell, "obliviate." He made her forget ever meeting him, it was best. He set down her wand next to her and ran up to his room, he kept a backup wand in there for emergencies.

He was going to find his brother.

A few hours later, Natalia woke up. She looked around in confusion and grabbed her wand off the table. "How the hell did I get here?" She asked out loud. She apparated to her room at the Zabini house and sat down at her desk. She was writing a letter explaining everything to Riddle.

Someone knocked on her door and she called for them to come in. Blaise walked in and sat on her bed. "You didn't come home last night, how'd it go?"

Natalia sighed, "by the time I got there, the locket was gone." Blaise nodded. "I'm writing to him now to explain what happened."

Both of them were worried, the Horcrux was part of his soul, if it got destroyed, let's just say it wouldn't go over well.

Regulus had searched almost all across England. He was looking everywhere he thought Sirius would go, Pettigrew's house, Potter's house, their manor in France, but nothing. The only place left for him to check was Lupin's house.

He sighed before knocking on the door. "Who is it?" Remus called from inside.

"Regulus Black," he identified and Remus opened the door in shock.

"SIRIUS!" He yelled and said person caming running.

He stopped, wide eyed, looking at the door, "Regulus?" He questioned. "But– you're dead."

Regulus shrugged, "some girl brought me back to life and– how long has it been, what's happened?"

Sirius and Remus looked at each other. There was a lot to explain and Sirius wasn't even sure if Regulus was on their side.
