It was early and I doubt Millicent was even up yet, but I headed down stairs with Pansy to get breakfast when we saw a crowd of people near the notice board. There was a new paper that said.
"By order of The High Inquisitor of Hogwarts
All Student Organizations, Societies, Teams, Groups, and Clubs are henceforth disbanded. An Organization, Society, Team, Group, or Club is hereby defined as a regular meeting of three or more students. Permission to re-form may be sought from the High Inquisitor (Professor Umbridge). No Student Organization, Society, Team, Group, or Club may exist without the knowledge and approval of the High Inquisitor."
I read it out loud to the group of students around us. "Wait, does this mean we have to ask her to hang out at breakfast with our friend group?" Pansy asked.
"I mean it seems like it, but that's kind of stupid. Wait, what about our study sessions?" I ask her. Her eyes widened. "I'll get it reinstated. it's a tutoring session. Nobody here will out anyone and if they do they'll have everyone on their ass."
"Okay, I probably have to go calm down Theo and Blaise they're probably freaking out about quidditch, Draco too," she says, waving to me. The Quidditch captain and I walk down the hall to Umbridge's office.
We both knock on the door and we hear a high pitched 'come in.' We open the door to the bright pink room and she smiles at us as we go and sit down in front of her desk. "What seems to be the trouble dears?" She asks in her sickenly sweet voice.
"I would like permission to re-form the Slytherin Quidditch team," the captain tells her and she nods. She writes down a notice for him before tearing it off and handing to him. "Have a great day Proffesor," he smiles at her before leaving. Well that was easy. Wonder how this will go.
"What are you here for dear?" She asks me.
"So, Slytherin has this tutoring group that we run. Some of the younger years were having a hard time in some of their classes so we had the older years tutor them. First years have Mondays, second years Tuesdays and so on. The older years help the younger years and on Sundays the seventh years just help each make sure they're caught up and study for their final exams," I explained to her very kindly. If I want this to stay I have to be nice. Play with her feelings a bit.
"I see and how long has this been going on?" She asks me.
"Well, they've been doing it for years really, but it only recently became an official thing where we've set days and times for everyone," I tell her. "It's really helped a lot of kids with potions, charms, and care of magical creatures," I tell her, saying the last one a little lower.
"Ah," she nods sympathetically. "Well, I see no reason this shouldn't continue. Hogwarts needs more students like you and the rest of the Slytherin house, so willing to help one another." She grins, writing me a letter before handing it to me.
I grin at her as well before standing up, "Have a great day professor," I smile at her.
I'm walking down the hall when Neville catches my arm and drags me to an empty classroom, "Did you see about the notice?" He asks.
"Yep, I actually just re-formed a group," I tell him, holding up a paper.
"People are wondering if someone blabbed," he admits.
"And they think it might be me?" I suggest and he nods a little. "Don't worry, I didn't do it. You'd know if I did. I would've said it at the meeting and made you all watch. I would've given her a long list of names and you all would be in detention right about now."
