"A-anong ginagawa mo rito, Jhon Rey?!" I immediately grabbed my towel and covered it with my body. My heart beats like crazy from panic.
"I've been knocking on your door, and you're not opening the door. That's why I entered. You've been here almost an hour, and I thought something happened to you," he explained while looking at the wall. I can sense his worry, even if all I can see is his back.
"Ahh... n-nakatulog ako," nahihiya kong sagot. Did he see it? My all?
I bit my lip so hard, and I knew the surroundings had suddenly warmed up. Even my cheeks felt like they were burning. The awkwardness filled the room. I want to be drained, just like the water in the tub.
"O-okay. I'm sorry."
And the fact that it was the exact time of his entry into this place. What a coincidence!
When I came out of the bathroom, I saw him come out of his room. Our eyes met, and we both immediately avoided looking at each other. Even I have no words coming out of my mouth. I don't know what to say. I still can't get over the epic situation I was in a while ago. Why would I always embarrass myself in front of him?
He cleared his throat and tried to break the ice between us.
"I just fixed your bed. I'll just sleep here on the couch," pagtukoy niya sa kwarto kung saan siya lumabas.
"O-okay." I nodded.
A little moment of silence. Should I ask and confirm if he saw everything? The hell! Why would I do that? It will just bring more embarrassment if I do.
"Anyway, what do you want to eat?" he asked, trying to maintain our conversation because the silence is indeed more deafening.
Especially now, nothing enters my brain because I am so bothered by the most unforgettable and embarrassing moment of mine, which he also witnessed.
Suddenly, I heard my stomach growl. Gutom na ako.
"Shouldn't we be supposed to eat at a Japanese restaurant last time? Do you want to get Japanese food instead?" he offers while scratching the back of his head.
"Sure. I'm craving maki too," I answered.
He nodded. "Alright. Can you order for us? I'll just take a shower."
"S-sure."
"Alright. The telephone is on the side of the couch. Be right back."
I breathed a sigh of relief when he disappeared from my sight. I repeatedly punched myself for remembering my stupidity and questioning myself about whether I really deserved to graduate with flying colors because of what happened.
Fortunately, they have delivery services, so I was able to place an order. I was glad when Mommy answered the phone right away.
"Sweetie, how are you? Kumain ka na ba? Nakauwi ka na? Kumusta?
