He meets me after the game, whooping and happily shouting his way out of the gym with a wide smile on his face and an equally as ecstatic Robin by his side. I smile lightly at his expression and fling myself into his arms.

"Woah! A welcome surprise," he chuckles, patting my head before squeezing me tight against him, ignoring the stares of passers by, still weirded out to see Steve Harrington in a new, happy relationship no less.

"I'm guessing you won your game?" I nod into his chest before pulling back slightly, my arms still wrapped around his torso and his arms still on my shoulders, "mhm, I was the star player if I say so myself."

"Star player my ass," a little girls voice appears from behind us and we break free slowly, turning to face Erika who holds a proud smirk on her face, "that position goes to me, you did alright though."

"She literally destroyed vecna! What do you mean alright?" Dustin struts over, cap on his messy hair and dungeons and dragons book held tightly against his shirt, as if someone would try to take it. "Sorry Erika but you can't always be the mvp."

She rolls her eyes before the pair begin a petty argument and Steve turns to me admits the chaos, "so.. star player huh?" The smile on his face has grown larger and his eyes sparkle as he looks down at me, something in his stare causing a wave of beautiful hope, every lock of eyes we share makes me feel the same.

Every touch from Steve Harrington brings a state of euphoria to my being, a happiness that runs so deep only lyricism could describe. I ask Steve to play some Madonna on the car ride back, he nods.

"Anything for the star player, m'lady," he grimaces slightly at himself as he tries to replicate a posh, possibly medieval accent. I slap his chest and a laugh escapes me, loud and fast.

"She did great."

A voice comes from behind us as Eddie Munson stands behind us, leaning against the doorway of the gymnasium. "Eddie! What are you doing at the gymnasium? Thought you'd be back by now!" I tease him and he chuckles, leant over and hair covering his face for just a moment as he shifts and walks towards us, "waiting for a friend."

"Munson," Steve politely acknowledges the boy. From my knowledge the two never really hung out before Steve graduated, which wasn't surprising, they had very different social circles.

"Well if it isn't the king of Hawkins high." The brunette boy does an eccentric bow, in fact it's almost a clumsy curtesy while Steve rolls his eyes and I feel his grip on me tighten slightly, not dangerously or rudely, just.. slightly. How strange.

"Eddie Munson, how's life?" Steve is polite, always smiling even though the boy didn't even recognise Eddie until I told him about our dungeons and dragons sessions, or until Dustin started fangirling over him.

"Extravagant Harrington." His sentence was short and the air seemed strangely tense as Dustin, Erica and I watched their interaction with confused eyes.
"Um, Steve we had to get going right?" I pull on his sleeve shyly, unsure of why we're still standing there.

He smiles down at me as if breaking out of a spell, "of course babe,"

"Babe?" Eddie snickers, but his quip is ignored by the brunette man holding my side,

"Let's get going."

As we enter the car I wave a quick goodbye to Eddie who of course curtesy's before walking back to the gymnasium. The action itself confuses me until as we head out of the parking lot, Dustin and Erica bickering in the backseats, I notice a wave of auburn hair matched with a green cheerleader outfit meeting Eddie in the doorway.
