Chapter 45

Max' s POV

Ash glared at me and said, "why would my girlfriend run to you to talk instead of me."

I sighed and said, "Damn it, she heard you guys this morning. She isn't a five-year-old you all can try and control. She can make her own choices. She came running to me instead of picking up a fucking goddamn blade this morning. Kat, she told me what you thought, you need to give her some credit she raised your son for two and half years and you're talking behind her back. Get real Kat, she knows enough that a child comes first in everything. CC, you don't know your sister very well, but I see that you're trying. There is one thing you need to know, before her brother died, he knew who she was related to. He met you and watched you take a drink from a water bottle, and he took it to have a friend of mine to test your DNA with Ry's. He made me promise to tell you that all he wants is for you to make her happy and not let other people control her. I promised I would look out for her. Now you Ashley, I don't know what your problem is, but you need to make up your mind because you know what could happen if she is or isn't pregnant. You need to decide if she is that you'll step it up and be a good father. I don't care what anyone says right now, but she is my sister and if I find out that you left her alone and pregnant you better hope that you are long gone because you will be six feet under along with Alex."

When I got that off my chest everyone was quiet and I looked over at them and said, "Sorry but you guys need to stop hurting her. I can't stand anyone hurting her like that."

Kat looked at me and said, "She thinks that I just use her or something?"

I sighed and said, "Kat she doesn't feel that she feels as if you're trying to dictate her life. So, who cares if she and Ash forget to wrap it if they both step up and be parents. Kate, I know with you it was hard because Damon's father died. Your son looks just like his daddy and there's nothing wrong with that."

CC glanced at me and said, "What did she say about me?"

I looked down and said, "She didn't. But I know your protective over her, you just need to ease up. I know you didn't grow up with her but just ease up. And Ashley, she does love you. I'm glad that you respect her like you do. I know she told you about her worries about being pregnant. But you two need to talk. Now she's staying at my place tonight so that way she can clear her head. Kat can you pack some things for her."

Kat nodded her head and walked out of the room. Cc looked up at me and said, "Was she really going to pick up a blade?"

I nodded my head and said, "She ran to me because she couldn't talk to you guys. You mean a lot to her. She loves you both. But with Alex out there stressing her out isn't good for any of us. I don't know what's going on between you two and her, but she needs to be happy. Too much has happened in her life."

"So, you're not going to steal my girlfriend, are you?" Ash asked me.

"No. I'm engaged. You don't have to worry about me stealing your girl. She has her phone, but to make you feel better I'll have her text you later tonight. Sally has work at 4pm to closing time," I told him.

Kat returned with a bag of her things and said, "I just packed an overnight bag to last her for a few days. If you need anything else let me know. Max, can you tell her I'm sorry for me please?"

"I will Kat. I'm not going to screw up this time," I told her.

I got up to walk out when Ashley said, "Max keep her safe okay. If she doesn't call tonight, is it okay if I call her?"

"Yeah. But I'll be calling Kat tomorrow. So just relax and don't do anything stupid," I told him as I walked out the door.

Ry's POV'

It was 3:30pm and Sal left for work and Max was working on things. I was sitting on the couch, and I was bored out of my mind. I took out my phone and thought of texting Ash. I sighed and thought about what they were talking about this morning. Ash was leaving in four days.

Hey Ash, I'm sorry. I know you can't decide what u want right now. I'll let u b. I think we need a break and Max didn't tell me anything. So, I guess this is goodbye for now. -RY-

A few minutes later I got a text from him.

Ry please don't do this. I want to be with you. I've told u that. Please don't give up on me. -AP-

Ash, I don't know right now. I know you're leaving in four days. I'm sorry. I think this is for the best. -RY-

R U sure Ry. What happens if you're pregnant? What well u do then? Well, you tell me? -AP-

If I am I'll let u know. I'll let u see the child if I am. I won't take the baby away if I am pregnant -RY-

Will I see you b4 I leave? -AP-

No. I need time to myself right now. I'll text sometime. Bye Ash. -RY-

He never texts me back. I laid down on the couch and then my phone dinged. I sighed and noticed that CC was texting me.

Ry what the hell did you do to Ash -CC-

I didn't text him. Of course, he decided to text me back.

Why is Ash packing his things? He won't talk to me. Ry what happened? -CC-

I told him it would be better if we had a break. I'm sorry CC. -RY-

I'm not mad. -CC-

You should be. Can you tell Kat to pack me enough clothes for about six days. -RY-

Why that long. -CC-
