CHAPTER 4

The days passed by and Chris, or I should say CC and I were meeting each other and talking more often. A couple of times he has asked me if it was okay if his friends could come along with him, and I'd told him it would be fine. Then he wanted to come with me on Saturday morning before the BBQ. This was the question that he had asked me the day before and I told him I would think about it. I wasn't sure if that would be a good idea. Yet sitting here at the cafe I thought about it, and it would be nice to have someone come with me. The idea of not being alone would make me feel a little better at least.

"Hey Ry, What's up?"

I looked up and I saw CC there with four other men standing behind him, dressed in almost the same clothes and make up as he was. Looking over the guys their hair was styled differently, yet one guy stood out from all five of them wearing black makeup, it was a different style than everyone else's, less make up, and one of the guys had a cowboy hat on. Then I remembered freaking out when I realized that CC was from Black Veil Brides. One of the few bands that I listened to shortly after my brother died. I felt lost and alone in this world, and they had given me something to hope for.

"Hey, so who do you have with you?" I asked, even though I already knew who they were.

"Oh right," CC said almost as if he'd forgotten to introduce us, "this is Andy, Jake, Jinxx, and Ashley." Said CC while he pointed to each member of the band. I nodded my head letting CC know I know who they were.

"Guys this is the sister I was telling you about, this is Crystal, but I must warn you that you need to call her Ry and if not you're dead." CC warned with a laugh.

I laughed at the look they were giving me.

"It's okay, just don't call me Crystal, and CC about tomorrow can you meet me here and we can go over there after I get a drink?" I asked, then I smiled. I didn't say anything but just tried to keep my mind calm.

"So, Ry, do you want to hang out with us tonight at the bar down the road?" asked Ashley.

I froze and looked at the time. I realized it was late, yeah, I do go to bars sometimes, but I didn't really drink because I didn't like the smell of the alcohol.

"Sure, we can head over to the bar and chill, I think it might be packed tonight but I'm not drinking anything besides a soda though."

They agreed and CC pulled me out of my chair, and we left the cafe. While walking down the street to the bar. When we walked in, I saw Nick and Max. They were with them the ones who got my brother drunk and pissed that he left the party and got into that car crash. The five were Angel, Zack, Kara, Jenny and Kimmy. I knew that they were watching me. I had to push all the memories aside. I felt CC pull me over to the pool table, almost as if he knew that something was wrong and didn't want me to dwell on it. We decided to play pool and we all paired up into groups and played.

I felt calm and that there wasn't a raging storm fighting inside of me. We were playing for a while when I made a trip to the bathroom. When I came back out, I noticed that Angel, Zack, Kara, Kimmy, Nick, and Max were talking to my brother and his friends. I got closer and when I was in hearing distance, I heard Angels stupid voice saying, "So I see that little miss bitch found herself someone who could replace her dead brother, I wonder what he would say knowing that his sister is fooling around with some freaks."

Then Zack, Angel's brother interrupted, "Sis don't start, just because Kate got in-between you and him, it doesn't mean you can hurt Ry like this, she's a sweet girl."

"Zack, leave Angel alone, you know that she's right. Ever since her brother died, she started to wonder who her real family was, she started looking before her brother was put to rest, then Kate went off the grid for two years then came back to raise her son when Ry couldn't because of all the cuts that she made to herself." Kimmy pushed Zack to the side a little to get herself closer to Angel.

Kara didn't say anything, but she didn't have to because she agreed with them. As I walked closer to CC, I noticed that Kimmy looked at me and said, "Here she comes," as a fake smile passed across her face.

I looked around and noticed that CC was about to say something, but I just shook my head. Nick came over and gave me a hug and said, "Don't listen to them, I talked to CC and told him don't do something stupid. Max and I will be at the BBQ tomorrow, even if these other freaks won't be," Nick pointed at the rest of his group.

Then Max came over when Nick backed away. "Hey sis, don't worry they won't hurt them."

I laughed. Nick and Max were cousins, but they were just like twins. They both had brown hair, but Nick had green eyes while Max had hazel eyes. They both had muscles that they could show off as well.

Then Kimmy started to speak again, "Hey little miss nondrinker, leaving so soon, why don't you drink some alcohol. It's good for you, come on."

CC walked up behind and put his hands on me and said, "Why don't you guys leave her alone, she doesn't need your shit."

Zack laughed and said, "Don't you want to know why she started to look for her real family? The day after her brother died, it was because she lost her brother because they fought that night. He came to party with us, she tried to stop him and then her mother fell down the stairs, and his slut Kate called 911, and then Kate called, and she tried to yell at her brother to stop. He was beyond drunk, and he was high, he hit another driver and died after an hour of being in the hospital, then little miss cutter over there took her brother's knife and cut herself and she almost died, it was her fault her brother died in the first place."

The memories started to come back, memories that I didn't want to remember, "You five think you know everything, but you don't, I wasn't born into that family. So, what, he died, it's in the past, I'm trying to move on with my life after you cheated on me with Kimmy and Kara. I don't care what you think of me, your opinion doesn't even matter," I controlled my breathing and said, "Sorry CC, I need to go. I forgot that I have a paper due on Monday."

I got my stuff and walked out of the door. I heard Nick yelling at others while Max talked with CC and his friends about that night, they didn't need to know, no one did.

When I reached my apartment, I walked into my room after making sure that all the doors were locked, I left my phone on my bedside table and put my stuff on the floor, I took the knife and started to cut into my arms. Everything that happened that night came back to me. Then I just cut, I didn't like doing it, but it was the only way to drown out the pain. Then I felt myself losing conciseness and blackness took over.
